Appeal Driving Suspension Due To Unpaid Fines

Unread post by Ricafort »

Hello all,

I would like to know if I am able to appeal a driving suspension due to unpaid fines?

The original court case was 14yrs ago with a conviction and fines. I had totally forgotten the fines and just a few months ago I received a letter stating my licence was suspended. I would have to pay the total amount plus interest plus a $200. reinstatement fee. BTW the fines never materialized on MTO's system which allowed me to renew my licence on 3 different occasions throughout those 14yrs.

Unfortunately I cannot pay to $700.+ fine all at one time and the JP denied my request for a payment extension hence I would like to know if I am able to appeal the suspension.

Respectfully yours,
