Careless Charge

My friend was following a car that made a sudden attempt to turn left. Unfortunately he hit that car.

He called 911 but they will not respond if there is no injury.

He reported it to the collision report place.

They gave him a ticket for careless. box for witness is ckd.

I think total $ is 460.00

Now I have been on this forum since it started and know what I would do.

But he is of younger generation and needs some direction.

I will let him see whatever you guys post as a response.

update:

He missed his court date. 1-2 months later they stopped him and impound car.

(lost for 45 days)

At court all charges were dropped and order to return car. (2500.00 impound charge dropped too)

My question is who paid the impound fee?

It just seems odd case.

There is more to this story than what has been posted...does not seem anywhere right to me...There are some details missing...

There is a lot more to tale.

It involves 3-4 police mistakes with a family matter. (charge dropped as not valid)(caused him to not see kids for a long time)

But back to my question: who pays when the police foke-up?

ie does the tow company lose $ or do we the taxpayer pay via police service.

again he paid nothing for 45 days storage/back to no tickets at all. (all dropped)

I can't say much more.

The towing company will get paid by somebody, probably the police, which of course is public dollars.

Absolutely. Who else could pay ?
