Re: Red light camera ticket. Moving for emergency vehicle
The only thing you have proof of is there was an ambulance in front of you with flashing lights. You are obligated to pull to the right and let other emergency vehicles pass not blow through a red light (even if you are trying to be noble). My magic 8 ball says the prosecutor will offer you a substantially reduced fine for pleading guilty and when ...

Re: Historic Plate Use
As long as the bus is substantially unmodified it should be able to qualify for historic plates. I wouldn't consider setting up some bunks on the inside a substantial change. Plenty of old commercial vehicles qualify: old fire trucks etc. If the bus were taken on the road and was unsafe a police or MTO officer could seize the plates. Either way it ...

Re: Combination of "vehicles" exceeds G Class license max wg
Are going by what is on the door jam sticker? If yes then you should be really going by the gross registered weight which is on the plate portion of the ownership. You can register a truck for whatever weight you want regardless of the manufacturers weight rating though if you are registered for 3000kg but your truck weighs 4300kg empty it will ...

So what caused your car to skid out? If it was mechanical failure your car should be examined and you could use the footage to corroborate the mechanics testimony.

Re: Disobey Stop Sign - Court in a few hours.. Advice needed
There is still a chance that the officer is a no show and there is a good chance that you can plead guilty to a reduced charge. You could also to for more time to review the evidence because you just received disclosure yesterday and haven't had a chance to review it. Good luck.

Re: Manitoba DL will be suspended, can I drive in ON with ON
I was under the impression that across Canada and the USA and a few select other countries that you can exchange your license for a full equivalent.

As for your plan I'm not sure it about MB but be careful your suspension may be deemed to start from the date you surrender ...

Re: 144(9) from a yellow warning sign?
I am not understanding what you did or where you turned from to where. Bottom line is that if the sign was obstructed or was not on a white background then you might just win. For the record I don't see a left turn sign with a yellow background are these street view captures or did you take these photos?

The pedestrian. Basically if you hit something or someone while turning it is on you because you are supposed to make sure the way is clear.

Re: Disobey Stop Sign + Fail to Surrender Insur: Worth Fight
In my opinion all tickets are worth fighting if you have the time. Note this is a minor conviction so it may be overlooked by your insurer, BUT if she gets into an accident or has another ticket all bets are off. You would have to call and see what your insurers specific policy would be.

Funny how that principle went out the window with red light cameras.

Re: Convicted 2X for IMPROPER LEFT w/o NOTICE OF TRIAL
For your purposes the sign said do not turn at this time. You did. This sign is visible for 60 meters before the intersection so it is a legal sign. Arguing that the sign is rare or unnecessary is going to result in a conviction. Time for a new strategy.

Early resolution meetings are for people who want to plea bargain. You are looking to get out of the offence entirely then you need to visit a few professionals and hire the one who you think best understands your case and objectives.

If you were on the sidewalk then I might be tempted to try and argue that technically you weren't on the road when you approached the stop sign. I was under the impression that the HTA only applied on public roads? Thoughts?

Commercial truck requirements
Having heard many stories from owners commercial type trucks at or above 4500 kg. I have heard a lot of people complain that they have not been able to find out what all of the requirements that apply to them in a clear concise format. Unfortunately most of them seem to only find out when they are pulled over for the first time and even then the ...
