can the OP ignore this?
can he be extradited for want of another word, as it is in a different province, unless of course he has a good reason to go back to quebec
I wouldn't go down that road, these things have a habit of coming back to haunt you later on in life.

I am pretty sure Yonge St is no longer part of Highway 11 and it;s been that way since the 90's.

Re: Turn not in safety - collision
Getting hit by a truck will show quite a bit more damage than a car even at low speeds. If you were t-boned by a truck going 70 chances are you would not be here to tell the tale.
So the question, to which I do not know the answer, is this ... If he was speeding, does part of the fault fall on him and his insurance, versus 100% fault for you ...

Re: Detailed level of accident report
Insurance ruling on 50/50 is independent of the charges that police lay, as far as I know, although they will review the police report.
For example, let's say you ran a red light and the other person, with a green light, hits you. You would be 100% at fault for the accident. But let's say as soon as the other person hits you (even though it is ...

So it sounds like the charge was withdrawn and then a summons was issued. They are allowed to do this if they submit the paperwork to the court within 6 months of the incident. Has it been 6 months? If not you're going to have to be prepared to defend the case in the same way you had originally planned. If yes, you're in luck....again.

Re: Truck from out of province hit on highway
No-fault insurance means your insurance company will compensate you for your car, and other losses such as medical treatment, lost wages etc. for amounts covered in your policy. Now if you have catastrophic injuries the effect of the accident on your future and family can in some people's minds justify suing the other party. People who are truly ...

Re: 130km/h in 100 zone on 401, possibly no radar
The officer can testify that you were speeding and that he knows you were speeding because he paced you, visually estimated your speed, or used radar/laser. Any of these methods if done correctly will support a conviction. (The court will find you guilty if you admit to going 1 kilometer over the limit.) The disclosure you receive will indicate how ...

Re: My Run in with HTA 172
As you know this is a very serious charge as far as the HTA goes.
You can either:
Attend the court date collect disclosure and see if the evidence against you will support a conviction then decide if you want to seek out a plea bargain or fight the charge.
or
Hire good representation to deal with this in the best possible way on your behalf and ...

Re: parking, stickers and ins.
I believe the standard clause is that "the owner shall not drive or allow the vehicle to be driven unless that person is authorized by law to drive it." This is more a matter if the driver lets their licence become invalid or suspended but could also apply to plate validations. Court rulings have come down in favor of drivers against insurers who ...

Re: Warn Range. Can someone help me?
If they pull a drivers abstract there will not be a conviction but they should see an administrative suspension but not the reason. Other reasons for an administrative suspension could be for a number of reasons including, unpaid fines, a medical suspension or not paying child support.

Re: Warn Range. Can someone help me?
If you have a full G licence blowing a warn cannot be used against you for insurance purposes because the 3 day licence suspension is administrative and not as a result of a conviction. Repeatedly blowing warns in a certain time frame will lead to escalating administrative sanctions that can be quite nasty.

Re: Stopped on a Signed Highway $150
In Toronto if you park during either the morning or afternoon rush hour you can not only expect to get a ticket for $150 but ALSO towed (much to the satisfaction of the other drivers that you are causing inconvenience to) costing you another $230 to get your car back. So if you avoided the towing and storage fees, count yourself lucky.

Re: Wasn't given a chance
In Ontario police are allowed to pull you over to ensure that the driver is licensed, and that the vehicle is roadworthy and insured.
You brother was fined for not being able to produce proof of insurance upon demand of the officer. Upon failure to produce proof of insurance the officer can write you a ticket. Even if you present it a moment later ...

Re: Speeding ticket reduced - best strategy ?
It certainly doesn't hurt to try. You can plead guilty to the charge right up until the trial begins. Besides requesting a trial gives you a host of other options and strategies for beating the charge outright.
