Re: 106 in an 80 while passing

He was travelling slower than the average speed on that highway. Just like the 400 series, most people drive 20 over by default on that highway. He was in an unmarked vehicle, I had no clue until after the fact. The situation was largely circumstantial to the point where he was literally waiting for people to take the bait and pass him. Essentially ...

106 in an 80 while passing

I was driving on highway 40 today and a police officer was in an unmarked vehicle, purposefully going about 90/95 trying to bait people to pass him. When I performed a safe pass - doing pretty much everything by the books (signaling, waiting for dotted line, clear traffic, barely speeding up) etc. The officer decided he couldn't write me for doing ...

Re: A question about disclosure

Does it matter who the delay is attributed toward, if there's almost zero chance of getting an 11b anyways? Will the only other impact be the opposite party's influence as to when the next trial date is? Is it safe to assume that if the first trial date was scheduled within 45 days (+15 for responding), there's zero chance of reaching the duration ...

A question about disclosure

I got a notice in the mail that trial is set four weeks from today, so it's time to request disclosure. I have zero chance of getting an 11b since trial is less than two months after the offense date and the officer did not reduce the charge. I really want to try and create delays on the trial, to reduce the chance of the officer showing up on ...

Re: Incorrect Set Fine Payable - Force Fatal Error

cruise is set to 110km, you where speeding, you can get deviation on the cruise,
they had you at 111, regardless of what you say your cruise was set to
so your cruise drifted, you where speeding,

I know my cruise can drift, this is why I set to a spot where it couldn't. But saying where it was actually set, would be enough to invoke reasonable ...

Re: Incorrect Set Fine Payable - Force Fatal Error

My car is a 2008 hyundai sonata gls. The speedometer is a needle and there's an odometer that calculates average speed. These do not agree on which speed i'm travelling while cruise control is on. The odometer reads three kilometers less when left to average out for five minutes.

I don't not plan on using speedometer calibration as a defense. It's ...

Re: Incorrect Set Fine Payable - Force Fatal Error

The odometer on my car is saying the speedometer is overshot by three kilometers. I'll verify this with a GPS, but it proves a point to myself. Cruise control held the speed well bellow the four dermit point threshold because I know about this and set it this way intentionally.

I can get a statement he'll allege I said about cruise control ...

Speeding Poll

There isn't really a off-topic thread or polling feature on these forums, but I want to pose this question anyways. In regards to speeding, what do commuters think about speeding on a highway/expressway versus in a school zone, while kids are getting out?

Based on my interruption of the speeding section, of the Ontario highway traffic act; it ...

Re: Incorrect Set Fine Payable - Force Fatal Error

Damn. Well at-least I have other things to go on.

The officer's radar clearly wasn't tested properly, because I was not travelling at 111km/h. I had cruise control on locked in - on a speed lower than this, knowing I wanted to stay bellow the kms around 110. My car has decently small tires, which would likely cause the speed on my speedometer to ...

Re: Incorrect Set Fine Payable - Force Fatal Error

The charge was speeding 111 in an 80 zone section 128. The set fine is $186 and total payable $226.

is 30 kilometres per hour or more but less than 50 kilometres per hour over the speed limit, to a fine of $7 for each kilometre per hour that the motor vehicle was driven over the speed limit
Therefore, the set fine should be 31 * 7 which is $217 ...

Incorrect Set Fine Payable - Force Fatal Error

I have an incorrect set fine payable, on a speeding ticket. Can I force a fatal error with this? If so, how do I do it?

And in the event the officer *might* know about it, could this cause any complications?
