I agree drinking and driving is stupid, but having two beers and getting charged is also stupid, lets face it some people stone sober are worse at driving than a guy who had a bottle of liquor but I digress....I was with him he had two to three drinks in four hours in no way a danger to the road...while the cop was pulling him over I bet about 5 ...

seems a little unfair that technically not being drunk or over .08 would get you into this kind of trouble

hmm...thats odd the cop didn't give him a suspension notice...

seems a little harsh, since when did breathalizers not give you the actual amount...it just gave him an A figure....no actual reading...

this seems like a dictatorship, you can't even contest the charge...how ridiculous

I didn't see a thread about this but anyway I was with a friend and he got pulled over for not slowing down for an emerg. vehicle...anyway apart from that the cop accuses him of being drunk because he smells booze and pulls out the breathalizer....he blows it and an A pops up on the screen, then he says this is the warning range, takes away ...

I got the charges dropped

he said it was an mpp that placed the signage lol and that it was taken down temporarily

I blew a hole in his argument because I had a document saying it was passed via city council the by-law was taken away once the sign was removed so that questioned his testimony

Also he had given me a ticket on the 19th of Oct, but ...

Let me rephrase in point form.

Approaching Red Light around 3:35PM

Noticed unusual heavy traffic in the area near the light

Cars/Trucks making left turns from right lane, almost got into an accident

Notice an officer about 25 metres to the right waving cars over to the side of the road, with a police car on the shoulder
there were about 10-15 ...

so I received my disclosure, nothing really there other than a picture of the sign, the time I made the turn and a note that the officer was standing outside directing vehicles to the side of the road for ticketing

Now for a charge of disobeying a sign, the reason I even made the turn was because the officer was pulling cars over on the side of ...

is it a dedicated lane with its own traffic light? if not then there is not much you can argue

I apparently made an improper right turn but couldn't see the sign, anyways went back a few months before my trial date and the sign isn't there anymore...now I can't argue my case properly, does this help me? i took pictures of the intersection with no sign...can this get me off? I think it can, if the cop doesn't have evidence to show that the ...

The ticket is correct, but the notice of fine and due date is not,

What should I write on my reopening document in order to process? do you know? I am lost when it comes to this stuff

There have been no answers & I am desperate so I will rephrase...

I received a notice of fine & due date because I just let the ticket go and did nothing with it, no court date, no plea nothing

So I was doing 41 over the limit...41x6 = 246 + 55 = $301 Fine

My Notice says I owe $406.00 for the fine, the court charge is 5 bucks as per Ontario POA ...

I was charged with 41 over the limit, the original ticket says $301, now I am charged $406 and they still spelled my last name wrong

to update further, I re-read my notice of fine and it is $406!!! my original fine was $301....how do they jack it up 105 dollars? can this be right? and the infraction just says speeding...are they messing with me?

I had a ticket and officer misspelled my name, I thought maybe I would get lucky and the JP may quash it....I want to appeal based on that prior decision where the name escapes me, now an OPP officer wrote me the ticket, is there an office in Toronto where I can place an appeal? do I have to go to cornwall? so how do I go about pleading to a by law offence?

do I seek out the prosecutor before the trial ie. a few weeks before? or do I show up early?

can the prosecutor throw out the charge beforehand? or offer me that before the trial?

what I meant was where the victim surcharge is stated ie. explains why the ticket is higher the officer wrote a 65 there...

I read that if there is a mistake on the ticket and I just ignore it and have the justice of the peace review it
