Tell him to call the police, and your insurance company but fire off a letter to the insurers with the background of the incident.
This sounds like a fraudulent claim.
I was driving in Regina many years ago following a car which struck another vehicle which had turned in front of it. I stopped and gave my name and number to the driver I'd been ...

Why do you say that ? The Crown Prosecutor is a lawyer.

Re: No full disclosure provided after 2 court appearance
They wouldn't say anything but they keep the records of what happened in court. They will write notes on each matter so the justice can know what went before.

Re: No full disclosure provided after 2 court appearance
I don't mean the desk clerk, I mean the court clerk in the court room adding notes to the jacket depending on what happens that day.

Re: No full disclosure provided after 2 court appearance
I don't know for sure but one would think that the court clerk would have records of the outcomes of each appearance and the reason for the delay.

No because then I can argue that the road is not designed for that speed, people do not expect you to drive that fast etc etc

Re: Form 4 Offence Notice - content
Ah were closer together than you might think. I've always said that the entire HTA should be thrown out for just one offence - driving like a moron. Then it would be up to the officer to present why the driving behaviour was a problem. I have seen officers sit in the 'fishing homes' and I agree that it is nothing but a cash grab.

Re: Form 4 Offence Notice - content
You come at this from the point of view of a law-abiding citizen dealing with minor traffic matters. Misleading and, yes, lying when trying to gain evidence against some of the most heinous members of our society is a critical part of criminal police work. Don't forget that the same police officer who may stop you for a burnt out tail light could ...

Re: WIN speeding 25 over
By the way, jsherk, I have noticed you do a very good job of avoiding getting into 'flame wars' in threads and that is admirable. But know that if I disagree with you, it is on a factual basis and nothing personal. I do and have always enjoyed discussion of differing opinions so don't be shy to come back at me - I won't take it personally. We all ...

Re: WIN speeding 25 over
I do get why you consider it a win but really you get the result you want by being a bigger pain than the crown is prepared to deal with. Certainly you get the result you want but it isn't that you actually win your arguments.

On what grounds ? The officer didn't offer anything in exchange for a guilty plea.

I'm the same, pretty sure you're ok. Give your local Service Ontario a call if you're worried but I'd drive.

Re: How long do the police have to submit a traffic ticket
If the court don't have any record of it then I suspect you got a freebie. The officer either lost his copy, or noticed a fatal error, or something else. If he didn't submit it in 7 days then the ticket is no good so he'd have to do a summons. Very unlikely.
