Re: City Transit Buses
I don't believe it's an actual Highway Traffic Act offence having passengers past yellow line per se. If the passengers were actually interfering with the driver's ability to safely operate the bus, the charge of "Drive While Crowded", section 162 of the HTA could apply. It's a $110 fine.

Re: Roadside Suspension
The roadside screening device does determine your actual blood alcohol content, but for simplicity it displays a letter code for certain values. "A" simply means your BAC is in the warn range, which is 0.05% to 0.099%. Since the actual legal limit is 0.08%, you could be just over the legal limit and still get a warning, so there is a bit of a ...

Here's the Drive Test page that lists the information you're looking for: http://www.drivetest.ca/en/edu/ReadyNewcomer.aspx
It looks like if you're over the 10 year period, you're considered a new driver and will have the full wait periods. If you're under 10 years, the wait periods can be waived.

Re: Roadside Suspension
Normally you would receive a notice of suspension. It's not a ticket, but a similar size piece of paper saying your licence is suspended for X hours.

Was curious as to why MTO had decided that it would be the OPP to patrol the highways - why doesn't MTO monitor the roads and have LEO as 'backup' should anything get out of control.

I don't believe there is any interest on fines, but you will be required to pay a $150 reinstatement fee.
If you've only been without your licence for 1 year, you'll probably only need to take a vision test to get your licence back. Here's a link to the DriveTest page that lists all the steps: http://www.drivetest.ca/en/license/Fee.aspx

Re: Seeking some educated opinions...Stunt driving charge
I don't believe so. Again, the Crown usually offers a plea deal in my experience and suspensions are tied to a stunt driving conviction, not speeding by itself. So if you accept a plea to speeding, suspensions are off the table (unless you have a lot of points from prior convictions). Obviously talk to your representative because they'll know best.

Re: Seeking some educated opinions...Stunt driving charge
No experience with Windsor, but I've seen many Crowns willing to drop the stunt driving charge if you agree to plead guilty to the speeding offence.
Now while speeding is better then stunt driving, 56 over would still probably be considered a major conviction by insurance providers. You'd need to get the speeding dropped down to 49 over (or ...

Re: 3 Tickets in 3 days but the third ticket is demerit poin
Or ask for a plea guilty in which I can get the demerit points for a non moving violation, I have still to read up about this but hoping there is one. Is it difficult to get the tickets downgraded or upgraded to a non moving violation?
Again, Ontario insurance providers treat all tickets the same, regardless of demerit points. So in other words ...

Re: No Validated Permit, but for suspicious reasons
Agree with above. Many officer routinely check any and all plates they come across, and such queries are perfectly lawful.
I'd strongly disagree that it was prejudice that caused the query. Possibly curiosity, more likely pure chance.
Also, there's much more efficient ways to "fish" for tickets then simply running random out of Province plates ...

The two 8 digit numbers would be the ticket numbers for the respective tickets. No sure what the "&" means, typo maybe? Never seen a typed MVC report before.

Re: Failure to remain at scene
If you truly didn't commit the offence, then the charge should simply be withdrawn or you'll hopefully be found not guilty at trial.
I certainly would suggest a lawyer, because it sounds pretty incredible that in 4 blocks, a car going 15 km/h couldn't be brought to a stop by holding down the brakes, using the emergency brake, turning off the ...

Re: Ticket for BLUE headlights
I'm confused. What is the actual charge wording and section number on your ticket?
The correct section is 62(14.1) and $110 is the correct fine. If you were driving a commercial motor vehicle, the section would stay the same but the fine would be $240 and the "commercial motor vehicle" gets added to the end of the charge wording. Where are you ...

Typically failure to pay fines simply results in a licence suspension, so you'd be unable to drive until they're paid off.
