Possibly because they need to add the restriction of "glasses required"?
Not sure... go to Service Ontario and see what they say. Sometimes the computer system rejects on-line renewals for no apparent reason.

Short answer (as argyll said): No.

Also maybe check the CanLII sight (www.canlii.org) for case law regarding disclosure of the officer's notes where the unit was tested.
In some cases where it wasn't included, the charges were dismissed or stayed. However, the officer does have the option of testifying that it is his/her "usual practice" to test the device before/after. It does ...

Re: Just "beat" my Careless Driving charge thanks to you guy
Just to clarify what argyll is saying: Insurance companies DO care about convictions. In many cases, Careless Driving is enough to get your insurance company to drop your coverage. However... in the case where a collision happens (such as this case), the insurance companies are more concerned about the at-fault determination rather than whether ...

Re: HELP! Speeding in construction zone told on camera
Standard stuff: Select the trial option and file for disclosure. Maybe it will take too long to get to trial (possible) or the officer won't show up (unlikely), they'll screw up the disclosure (don't bet on it, they've become pretty sharp with that), or the evidence will be weak (forget that).

Re: Need help for people never met ticket
how can the office set the other driver be a witness if he was involved in this accident, he will definitely do against us for protecting himself.
The officer does not need to have witnessed the collision in order to issue a ticket. Based on the description of the collision that you and your wife provided, the officer decided to charge your wife ...

I dont understand that if the middle lane just for going straight, how to explain a green arrow light? Thanks.
The light can be positioned anywhere, or there can be multiple lights. In that case, you needed signs or painted arrows on the road. The traffic light doesn't count.
Worst case scenario, you could plead guilty to a lesser offence such ...

AI CHIHUAHUA.
Start with Ontario. Call the courthouse where your trial took place and tell them you would like to pay any outstanding fines owed. That's step 1. They can also work with you on a payment plan. As for the licence suspension, I would also contact the dealership that claims they paid all outstanding fines and get some sort of letter ...

Just want to clarify, which section were you charged under? Was it section 7 (5) of the HTA?
The one thing I can tell you for certain is that yes, unfortunately, you must pay your fine first before you appeal. If your appeal is successful, then the money gets returned to you. The appeal is not heard by a Justice of the Peace; it is heard by a full ...

Re: help – an old version yellow ticket, effective or not?
Ok I'm not really following so I'll ask some questions for clarification... you were on a middle (through) lane and turned left from the through lane? Or was the left-most lane blocked with construction and you turned left from the left-most lane? Or, did you turn left from the left-most lane that wasn't blocked by construction, and turned into the ...

Re: Multiple tickets including Red Light - Fail to Stop
If you want to resolve this with the prosecutor, you can ask to have the red light charge dropped down to:
HTA 144 (10) : Obeying lane lights
(10) Every driver shall obey every traffic control signal that applies to the lane that he or she is in. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 144 (10)

If not, is the second ticket legal to give me?
Yep, even if the first ticket was invalid (not sure that it was), they have up to 7 days after the offence to serve you with a Provincial Offences Notice (ticket). If that's not enough, they can proceed by giving you a summons up to 6 months after the offence. So that's ok.

Correct. As argyll said, you can't get the trial moved for a speeding ticket.madbrad wrote:So, no, there isn't such a provision I can avail myself of?

Re: Noob:Proceed Contrary to Sign at Intersection 144(9)
I got pics of where the cop is parked today same location and from an aerial view he is pretty far back
Unless his view of the intersection was obscured, that won't help. Since the sign said "no left turns," he only needed to see you turn left out of the intersection - he didn't need to see the whole thing.
I suppose you could argue the sign ...

Any suggestions on possible outcomes of this case ? Everyone talks about the bilingual defense but I have not seen anyone post a successful outcome to date.
Bilingual defence doesn't work. There was one case in Toronto a few years ago where a JP ruled the sign had to be bilingual, but that conviction was appealed and there has not been any ...
