Depends on what administrative fees Alberta has for taking tickets like that to court. In some cases, if you lose, they can levy higher fines (e.g. Quebec), but I don't know what the situation is in Alberta.
FYI, there's reciprocity between the two provinces so if you fail to pay the ticket in Alberta, MTO is supposed to suspend your licence for ...

Re: Proper procedure for license reinstatement
Service Canada does not handle driver licences. Start by calling MTO and see where you can go to pay the reinstatement fee (might be DriveTest but I don't know for sure).

Re: Centre turn lane as a passing lane
If there were turn arrows in the oncoming centre lane, then the oncoming driver who you collided with would be guilty of disobeying the lane markings, or possibly careless driving. However, they could also say that you made an unsafe left turn. Have you been charged with anything?

Re: Speeding 20 over reduced to 10 over
The risk in fighting a reduced speeding ticket is that the Prosecutor can have the speed amended back to the original (20 over). HOWEVER, if he had not passed the 60 km/h sign and was still in a 70 zone and was doing 80... then the ticket wasn't reduced but reflected the original speed. Th ekey thing is where the speeding offence was noted. It is ...

Re: Advice to presenting case
You'll probably get the manual and the notes. The SOP might be made available, can't say for sure. If the OPP procedures differ from the manufacturer's manual then they should be made available to you (R. v. Lorna Bourget case from the Northwest Territories).

Re: Speeding safely, apprehended dangerously!
Originally the s. 172 law was supposed to be confined to what it was supposed to be for: Street racing. However, then-OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino was quite vocal about how "excessive speed" needed to be considered racing, and Premier Dad threw it in there as well. I agree that stunt driving/racing should be reserved for people who genuinely are ...

Re: Offence Date Not Available at PayTickets.ca
Paytickets is not the official document and the absence of the offence date on its website is not grounds to get it dismissed. If the date was absent on the ticket itself, that's an entirely different situation.

Re: Two questions about right turn
The "Stop Here On Red Signal" takes the place of a stop line (or reminds people "STOP HERE"). It does not prohibit a right turn on red.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police, among others, conduct field trials and audits on the devices for accuracy. This is independent of any tests that the manufacturer does to verify the accuracy of its products.
The information about the accuracy is advertised in the manuals.

Re: turn not in safety ticket - Left Turn Collision
Just to let you know: They cannot "waive" points. Demerit points are administrative and are applied by MTO based on the conviction you get in court. You'd have to plead guilty to an offence that either does not have demerit points associated with it, or be found not guilty.

Re: How to file an 11B
You have to explain why you filed the application, the circumstances of the case, and why you believe that the charge should be stayed, citing case law. You need to lay your case out for the JP. 12 months and 26 days should be enough but you need to explain to the JP why this is true for your case.

Re: Red Light Fail to stop 144(18) on amber left turn arrow
Keep the video tape evidence. For now, just pick option 3 and file a notice of intent to appear (go to the courthouse). When you get a court date, file for disclosure of the officer's notes. From there, you'll be able to put a case together. If you can truthfully testify that you were facing an amber arrow accompanied by a green light, then you ...

Re: Careless driving in severe rain
You'd have to show that your girlfriend was driving with due care and attention. Did you happen to get the tow truck driver's contact information? Even if the police did not talk to him... he could be a witness for you (depending on what he has to say).

I wouldn't recommend saying something like that, but it must've been pretty funny.
Congratulations on your win.
