Newbie with a related question

Unread post by edski »

Hi everyone

I would like to know if the Highway Trafic Act includes any legislation regarding the requirements for municipalities to replace markings on the roadway after maintenance. I have noticed a number of regional roadways in my area that do not have a solid white line that marks the the boundry of the traveled portion of the road and the shoulder. If this is something that is contained in the HTA, would anyone be able to point me to the proper section?

The white line is important to have. It really helps in the winter when roadways are covered in snow and it is hard to see the centre line. I usually look to the white line to tell me where the shoulder is.

I don't believe there's any requirement for them to have markings or to replace them if they were obliterated by road work.

NOTHING I SAY ON HERE IS LEGAL ADVICE.
