Hello I just received a ticket of $95, i was driving 75kmh in 50 kmh zone. The officer did reduce my ticket from 75kmh to 65 kmh, hence there no points involved in this ticket. I do not mind paying for ticket but i am afraid if my insurance will go up. And this is my first offence, i have never received a ticket in Canada before. I also do not live in the city where i got the ticket and in order to fight, i have to come back from Ottawa to Milton. My question is it worth fight for this ticket or i just should pay and get over with it. If i fight what the worse can happen, can officer increase my ticket back to original, if that happens than i think i will get three points. Any advice will be appreciated.

You will have to contact your insurance provider to determine if the ticket will impact your insurance or not. Some will overlook your first offence. If you decide to fight the ticket in Court, the Crown will most likely amend it back up to the full amount. Determining if the ticket is worth fighting depends on how much time you want to invest in attending Court and if you have a defence that would be successful in Court.

I was in court last week for a three dem points offense. The prosecutor offered everyone a plea of guilty with a lesser fine and no points. Almost 90% of them took the guilty plea.
For those who didn't agree to the plea bargain, they called them out after sometime and had the police officer "work"…
Am I the only person is Ontario that wonders why it was determined that the lines on the road [specifically the outer edge lines-shoulder of road] are painted white ... as the lines are not too visible in bad weather - especially snow as the white line blends with the snow.
My wife received a ticket for driving with expired plates in 2013. I sent the ticket in the mail with payment but stupidly didn't make sure that it was paid. I assumed that they would send us a notice if it didn't.
Today, my wife was at the OPP office to get a criminal record check for school.…
I got this ticket last year in toronto and received court date recently.

Hi. I have trial date coming up and some good advice would be appreciated. A few months back the OPP clocked me at 142 KM on highway 401. It was late evening and I was totally surprised when he pulled me over. I had my wife and 2 sons with me in the car and there was no way I was speeding. I…
Okay, so as you guys can see in my previous thread, I got a ticket for "Red Light - Failed to stop". The ticket i got was in Scarborough. What paralegal/lawyers would you guys recommend I go with. Cost isn't really an issue, but I would really like to get this ticket dismissed.
I was driving up the skyway bridge in Burlington Ontario in the right lane. I noticed an emergency vehicle on the right side with flashers about half way up. I slowed my vehicle by at least 10 kms to 90km right away but another car started to tailgate me very close. I even said to my wife - oh my…
I was travelling east bound on ellesmere road and approached markham road attempting to make a right turn. All signal lights were red and cars traveling down markham road south were given the green arrow. I slowed down and attempted to make the right turn. I got…
