Can an off duty cop charge for careless driving if only speed was involved, calling the person at home to tell them that they were doing 40 to 60 kms over the speed limit.

- Off-duty officer can still charge people - once the person is charged, has court date, ask for disclosure - disclosure will show what evidence there is to support the charge - decide on that evidence if person is going to plead guilty or not guilty - person can then post back on this thread to see if any other members have any helpful suggestions - in meantime, evidence is speculation and person might have only heard what he/she wanted to on the phone
