Re: E-Bike on the sidewalk colision

I'm hearing different things about the legalities of riding an e bike without pedals so i just called the WPD and the officer i spoke to said that ebikes fall into a loophole because they are both human powered and motorized. To stay within regulation as human powered they must have the pedals a fixed while on public roads.
Once the pedals are off ...

E-Bike on the sidewalk colision

So Im in heavy traffic and barley moving maybe 5kph tops as i turn right into a gas station/Tim Horton's with the signal on when an e-bike riding on the sidewalk traveling with traffic hits my right front bumper so hard it rips it off and sends him over my hood and into another car waiting to exit the driveway.
I proceed to call 911 as the ride was ...

Re: flashing headlights'.

Sounds like you live in Windsor. If you leave A car length around here someone will either get irritate or blow by and slam on the brakes so they can jam themselves in front of you.Why people feel the need to abuse their car and other drivers like this is mystifying.I generally slow down more when they get like this because you never know what they ...

Re: FAIL TO MOVE INTO ANOTHER LANE FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLE

It should be very obvious you need to move to the far lane for anybody on the shoulder I once had to change a tire on the 401 before the shoulder was widened and had the car that was very stable on the jack with flashers on get blown off by a passing truck.I had just pulled the wheel off.The car hit the wheel and smacked me the face so hard it ...

Just a question, why is it ok for the police to lie in order to get a signed statement yet the OP cannot? Not trying to start an argument here just trying to understand.Regardless of tactic if the truth comes out......it's the truth.
Is it myth that the police can do this and I'm not saying they shouldn't.If I were to be a victim I wouldn't care what ...

I agree and can't see the charge sticking,be smart about it and hire a good lawyer/paralegal.Asking anymore questions with regards to your charge on the internet is not a good idea.

Next time record the your conversations with the PD.Personally I would use what ever means possible including the freedom of information act to catch the him lying to the court. And then see if you can catch him or both of them during questioning If the officer cant remember why he didn't show for the court date it logically follows that he can't ...

Re: Cop Car Parked with 2 tires on Road for Speed Trap

I have something to say about this.I was driving down EC ROW expressway in Windsor last year when on a pitch dark stretch during a misty night a passing car and i came upon fully marked black and white OPP cruiser parked on the right shoulder doing radar with the drivers side wheels on the yellow line and all his lights off.He could not be seen by ...

I hate it when they do that,I have run one over myself.A few years ago I was making a left hand turn off a major road on my motorcycle and had a cyclist riding in the opposite direction on the sidewalk I was timing on coming traffic and would have been caught in the middle of the road as he came into view far to late.Long story short I took out his ...

Probably wont get a ticket.Sometimes you get stuck and can't move to the right lane right away or at all.I generally pull over as far as i can and put my signal or flashers on so ems knows im not going to move on them when they blow by.If there were cars blocking you from the right and middle lane stopping where you are as long as you arn't ...

I don't buy that the cop thought you were going to drive away unless he is a little slow.Reaching in and grabbing someone by the throat with the window half open is a good way to get killed if they do drive away.If you were leaving you would have already been gone.He lost his cool and gave you a break because it wasn't a smart move on his part.I ...

Buying a American morcycle saftey requrements

If I buy an imported American bike from Canadian dealer does the bike have to conform to Canadian standards. For example do they have to install a kickstand kill switch. Also if it's A privet sale does the seller need to have it done to pass safety. Thanks

why careless

Just out of curiosity why do officers generally charge some people with a careless instead of a lesser offense. An example would be a careless instead of a following to close in a rear end collision.I haven't been charged but I know people who have and some get the lesser offense and some the careless.

Re: Passing on the right

It's an city expressway and the dotted line doesn't slowly close a lane it just ends. Also the width of the road does not change however parked cars become an obstical and speed drops to 50kph from 80kph.I think the rule is no passing on the right unless the other to car the left is turning or signaling to turn. Thanks again

When two cars are traveling down a road side by side and road is marked with two lanes in the same direction(dotted white line) is it legal to pass on the right or hold position when the dotted line stops? What is the car on the right supposed to do,I would think drop back and yeild as the road becomes a single lane, or does it?

I was riding the bike to the shop for service today and nearly got sideswiped.I was traveling down an 80kph stretch of four lane road that drops down to 50kph where the dotted line marking the two north bound lanes ends yet the road stays the same width.I had to swerve to avoid a big pot hole and was passed on my right by a kid in an f 150 so close ...

I have been stopped a few times walking motorcycles down the street with out gear and the police didn't care as long as I wasn't riding, their only concern was that didn't get run down. How can you get a ticket for no gear while not riding? It doesn't show intent, don't you have to be on it?
