What am I?

I work for CBSA now. I'm right up there with ya on danger. Maybe not as much as our American counterpart watching the Mexican border. However I have no freedom to talk about those details. http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/

I am trying to offer constructive critisism, thats all. And maybe perhaps I'm beeing too negative and seeming like I am attacking your ...

Re: Almost left my job

Wish I ran into more considerate officers myself. Read my last big post. I would have less of a chip on my shoulder. The only sense I could make that the officer stopped my cab was because I was easier to catch up to.

In the end, I got two ticket, lost my fares and after pleading guilty with an explanation I showed the JP my weekly earnings ...

Good story

I would have no complaints if all police acted like that. It's the way policing is meant to be.

I like the part that the driver was disshonest and the passenger told the truth. The best part is that when you gave them a break, you told the occupants of exactly why you are giving them a break, because one of them told you the truth. Your showing ...

Well, Here we go again.

How about a cab driver who gets pulled over twice for doing 10 and 15 over while heading to an airport for the days one and only fare in a poor town while somehow missing his rival cab driver roaring through a residential at probably over 130 (Just judging by eye). The only reason he knew we had fares was because this cab driver had a radio to tune ...

We could be dancing like this for months.

I understand, lots of people are opportunistic and if some officers are receptive to an explanation from a motorist. I am sure then that one can become bitter in dissapointement.

Look at the example of the crying little girl, she knowns she's guilty as sin but she's saying she's attending police foundations and absolutely cannot get a ticket as ...

Thats great

Of course, observation are funny things, one side perceiving their side as a shining force for good, the other well more or less like Sin City. You have to be a well trained mind to seperate fact from fiction.

Sorry to say this but the fact is, what you say about yourself might not be true for the others. And you know what? I would encourage you ...

Alrighty, I stand Corected

Maybe in the absence of knowledge, I over estimated my numbers and thats why I am asking these questions. Here I am standing corected.

However, having admintted this, there is an awful lot of people who would swear they have been financially victimized by roadside police. And thats not immaginary which might equal more than the previously ...

A doctors prescription

Well, yeah, it does seem paranoid to be doing this considering such tiny numbers of potential officers involved. However and I am just immagining this, I think the damage just might be a little larger than these numbers would suggest. I was just wondering, at the precinct, do you have those officers who tend to brag about giving out large amounts ...

Well there we go

Even if it's only a very small fraction of a percent, a police officer who abuses his/her powers (I don't care if there is a reason or just for kicks) however is a huge public nuissance and flies in the face of why we pay taxes to them. To serve and protect us. A fraction of a percent out of 60 000 is still too much.

It's nearly impossible to ...

We all know that about Radar Detectors

About Radar,

I thaught there was a law for the police to follow that a car cannot be searched unless they see something. It would be your own stupidity to leave something out in the open. If an officer ever suspects something and asks to look into your car, tell them, no officer, I do not give you permission to search my car. So, I'm not gonna ...

Speedometer

A one frame a second Low res camera to record the speedometer? Thats GREAT? It should be all I need. I can probably find something compact enough to do the job. 1inchX1X1, sure thing. I'll let you know if that works out.

great I like that reply

There are tools out there that say they can detect radar or lidars. I don't know if it has to actually hit your car or not to be detected. Then you can record the time. At least you might be able to date and time stamp.

So far, I figure that with a swivel mount, you might be able to record evidence of whats infront of your car or even in back ...

This topic is all over the map

You know I get a little upset when people are trying to make rash judgements on just a series of words that are typed up. The question I am asking is would a dash mounted camera and a way to record in real time your speedometer readings while you drive be considered as evidence in a court. And I think I know the answer now, if the camera captures ...

I apologise if I offend

Yes, I do find some police officers are crooked, but I know allot of straight ones too.

I find them especially ignorant on weekends and especially while your driving cross country hundreds of km's away from where you live cause thats when they have a good idea that it would be terribly costly to contest it.

In the United states, most police ...

So I need to certify my speedometer?

Sure, how much could it could, find a garage with a dynonometer and having it certified once a year should be no problem, this way I can prove it's always acurate. Besides, a video camera mounted in your car can have other benefits. Like catching crazy driving and posting them on Youtube. Lol.

My mustang brings all the girls in the yard and Popo's as well. Yes, I get stopped often, like twice a year. Yes, I know I don't speed. I also like to drive on long trips on terrible weekends like that dreaded May 24 or that labor day weekend where the police think they can stop anyone they want.

If I wanted to get away with speeding, I would ...

actually, I can manage to mount my camer just behind me to record my speedometer in real time as well as the road. The only problem is, it would be a rather awkward placement. On the ceiling of my vehicle directly behind me and I would end up damaging the fabric.

serious defence for serial ticketers.

For about the price of the last ticket I got for allegedly speeding, I bought myself a night vision capable video camera as well as fashioning a dash-board mount for it with velcro adhesives. The next thing I want to do is perhaps install a swivel mount where I can swivel my camera from front windshield to the back windshield.

This way, for your ...

Time to clarify

Yes a 4 cylinder can travel above the limit fairly easily, but not without the driver notticing he is speeding. It is much noisier. You see, if we never had a speeding ticket before, that means we actually drive carefully and the only way we would be speeding is if we didn't nottice. My last car was a Chrysler Concorde and I remember touching 140 ...

Erick Ouellette and Jessica's Menard's Occurrence

1.There was never anybody in the front of us until the last few minutes before we were pulled over. We have been notticing a vehicle catching up to us from a couple of km's back pull up from behind at a High rate of speed. The vehicle was a red Charger or Magnum who didn't like the fact that we ...

I didn't include the radar information. Yeah, they also gave me a page from their manual. They tested it at 7:30pm, but it dosn't say if it was tested at night The rest is pretty clear.

Say, I was wondering, I look at my ticket and the writing on it is beautiful and legible. However, the evidence that he mailed to me is terrible and barely legible. For those who don't know, can we quote witch chapter of the charter of rights we're talking about exactly? I'm asking because I don't know and looking like a jack in da box in court seems fairly likely.
