Percentage Based Speeding Charges

Unread post by golfer0012 »

Instead of # of KM's over the limit, I think tickets should be based on % over. For example you would usually get a ticket if a cop sees you going 65 in a 50, but you can routinely pass cops on 4 series highways at 120. I think this makes more sense then just plain km's over.

Hey Bear, what's 35% of 80?

Not only the cops, but the drivers too! Might make people less willing to speed so much anyways.

10% of 80 = 8

5% of 80 = 4

35% of 80 = 28

divide and conquer, errr, solve!

Maybe punishments could be based on percentage. 172 could become the 50% over law...actually makes more sense - 75 in a 50, 90 in a 60...60 in a 40 might be too harsh for impoundment, but then again 40 zones are usually school zones or really narrow streets.

Not really you would just need a basic calculator from a dollar store.

Although knowing most cops there would be alot of fatal errors

I'm just joking... I simply remember that thread very well, and then I saw that it was full 3 weeks before you registered.

You'll make an unbeatable cop though (at least in court), so good for ya!
