75km/hr In A 50km/hr But Should Be 60km/hr Is This An Error?

by: dude on

Hi all,

as the topic reads i got a speeding ticket on lawrence ave E just west of Victoria park ave. The ticket says i went 75km/hr in a 50km/hr zone but last i checked lawrence is suppose to be 60km/hr and even google street view shows speed posts reading 60km.

Not sure if speed limit changed or not but i will have to go back and check to see if it was actually 60 km/hr or not.

Anyways is this considered a ticket error?

The City of Toronto announced project VisionZero 2.0 last summer. It's a substantial list of streets that were set to drop their current limits by 10km as soon as someone was able to put up the new signs.

Lawrence Avenue East from Railside Road to Morningside Avenue was scheduled to be reduced from 60 to 50.

You should probably double check as Google street view isn't always up to date. You might have been pulled over as their way of enforcing the new limits.
