137 On An 80 Zone, Reduced To 49 Over-highway 7 And Bradwick

Unread post by 49over »

Hi,

I received a speeding ticket at approximately 10pm two weeks ago on a Monday night. I was given the ticket a few km's from the intersection as highway 7 going west from bradwick becomes a two-lane road with construction pilons around. I guess he didn't want to pull me over there so he waited until highway 7 became 3 lane again and turned his flashers on.

I'm a G licensed with the following record:

June, 2009 - At-fault accident while taking a left turn

June 2010 - 83 reduced to 65 on 60.

Aug. 2014 - 143 on 90 at DVP, reduced to 139 on 90 (49 over)

October, 2016 - 137 on 80 zone, reduced to 129 on 80.

When I went to trial for the first 49 over offence, the officer showed up. My charge didn't get bumped to stunt driving. In fact, my fine was reduced to $200 by the judge. I'm not expecting my charge to be dropped; perhaps, a lesser charge that will result in a lesser damage to my insurance.

What is my best course of action for minimal damage on my insurance?

Your insurance provider will in most cases charge you the same for anything 49 and under.

Yes that's what has happened with my first 49 over offence. How do I deal with this second one? Should I go for trial or early resolution?

The 09/10 shouldnt even be counting on your license or as far as insurance is concerned (run a abstract and it will show this)

So you have 2, and if this one goes though 3; your insurance could have a problem with that.

Usually 2 minors, but hit 3 and they'll refuse your insurance on renewal.
