Calibration & Testing Requirements For Radar & Blood Alcohol

Unread post by jsherk »

So after reading this post ...

http://www.ontariohighwaytrafficact.com/topic3398.html

... it seems nobody has been able to get the court to recognize that calibration/maintenance of radar should and needs to be done.

My question is if there IS a requirement for calibration/maintenance of blood alcohol machines? Are they required to keep these types of records for blood alcohol machines, or are they in that same category as radar where a "self test" before and after is enough?

Thanks

There are stringent calibration checks and accuracy checks that are required for Alcotests and Breathalyzers. Cases get thrown out when they are not done.

How ever unlike radars they are not tested daily but are tested every week, 2 weeks, etc depending on the program approval and instrument used.
