Traffic Offence ???
Is there such a charge as "drive while distracted"?
An example...driver drops a cigarette, searches for on the floor of the car and is charged.
Thanks

Careless driving, section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act.
drives a vehicle or street car on a highway without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the highway
And what's commonly called a "distracted driving" ticket in the media is actually referring to the specific charge of "drive - handheld communication device" - driving with a cell phone or similar device.
