Re: Handheld Device Ticket?
A conviction for that offence is only 3 points, unless you have other points on your licence you shouldn't get the suspension. A G1 or G2 driver gets the 30 day suspension when they get 4 points in total.

Re: Insecure load - open for discussion
The word blow is in reference to light loads such as leaves, tree branches and things like that, loose paper or cardboard and so on...one cannot guarantee normal driving conditions at all times, if the driver has to make an evasive move for some reason they don't want the load getting tossed out...

There are many factors the prosecutors consider before agreeing to lower the rate of speed down...an increase in the insurance rates is not one of them...they are well aware of the fact that the insurance premium will increase, exponentially. They will consider, how much over the 50km they were going, time of day, other aggravating factors and most ...

The total allowable length is 23 metres...if you go over that you will need a permit.

Re: First Speeding Ticket.
If you take the option to fight the ticket, the prosecutor will ask to have the ticket amended back up to the origional speed. If convicted, you will receive 4 points. There are those on this site that will advise you to plead not guilty and request a copy of your disclosure, then post it on this sight, with private info blocked out, so they can ...

That is correct: Highway Traffic Act: Regulation 628, Section 6(2) "Evidence of validation for a permit SHALL be affixed to a number plate for the vehicle in accordance with this Regulation, and the portion of the evidence of validation not intended for the number plate MAY be affixed in the appropriate space provided on the permit for the vehicle".

Re: Clear Plate Covers
One big problem with the clear covers is some people put the validation sticker on the plate cover, not physically on the plate itself, as it should be...you certainly can get a ticket for that...If the plate cover is in good shape you should have no problems with it.

Re: Failing to stop for a school bus G2 driver
There is a set fine for a School Bus charge: $400 ++ =$490, as well it is 5 points so a G2 driver, if convicted, will get a 30 licence suspension from the Ministry...Not sure why a summons was issued, there may be more to this story than we were told...
