RV

Just curious why is it that we don't need a special licence to drive a 50foot long RV. How safe do you feel when a couple of seniors sell their cavalier and decide to live on the road driving a bus size RV. Now that can't be safer then me speeding at 130km on the 401. Transport drivers need to finish a special course and need to be able to back the ...

Re: New law

I wonder what could be done to eliminate the new speeding law where your vehicle is impounded. After all Fantinos plane should be paid for by now. I guess the German government actually cares about the safety of the motorists and our cares about making money and looking good for the media. I wish someone would actually try to organize a press ...

Re: New law

""Why are the cars being made that can go 400 km/h, when the speed limit is 100 km/h?" These cars are to be driven on the racetrack at these speeds"
Yes, and we all know that all the Benz/Audi/BMW Wagons and SUVs that can easily travell at 250+ will be driven on a race track. Plus I know there are race tracks on every corner in Ontario. Why not ...

Re: Ontario Police Problems?

I'm in my 30s married with kids and i do know my rights but does not help sometime. All it takes is a officer in a bad mood that hates cars in general or has no clue about tuner cars. I also attend local track days at Shannonville.

Re: Ontario Police Problems?

The police should stop targeting tuner cars. Just because you have invested time and money and your car looks flashy does not mean you are a bad person. Why do police issue stupid "improper muffler" tickets only to tuner cars?. They call it excessive noise, but what about a Harley with open pipes. I got pulled over several times for just because ...

Speed limits

Why is the speed limit still at 100km/h on the 400 series highways??. That limit was set when the highway was desigend way before airbags and crumple zones and when the driving tests consisted of driving in the straight line. We now have vehicles that can easily travel at 200km with the cruise control on, your chepest mini van can double the ...

Re: Emissions Test

For the general public the whole e-test busuness is a waste of time. Most people that know their vehicle will not pass will find a "friend" who will help them. No vehicle should be tested under 6 years. Why not concentrate on bigger vehicles such as buses/18wheel or impose higher fuel tax on private planes. But what can you say its just another ...

Re: Front plates

How current is the HTA that you are quoting. I'm sure it said something about being visible from front and back. Maybe it was changed??

New law

Why is it that we never hear of police issuing tickets to drivers for driving with bald tires or poor brakes after all those are the things that usually cause accidents. All you hear is that speed was a factor or the word "racing" is mentioned. Why pick on seasoned car enthusiasts that enjoy cars in general. How could you crush my car just because ...

Engine mods

What engine modifications would you consider illegal? As long as my car passes e-test am I safe from eco police?. Is lowering your car illegal?.

Re: Front plates

OK, so as long as you have a rear plate and one clearly visible from the front you should be OK. Nowhere in the act it says that it has to be affixed to the front bumper.

Front plates

I was pulled over for not having the front plate on the bumper, the plate was VERY clearly visible on the dash from the front. The only reason the officer pulled me over because the car is flashy and stands out. I was not speeding or doing anyting wrong. He insisted that it has to be on the bumper, I asked him to show me that in the HTA and he said ...
