Re: Summons To Witness

They will keep trying. If they believe you are intentionally avoiding them they can get an arrest warrant. Not saying they will but you may as well accept the subpoena.

There you go making those assumptions again

Re: The idea of failing to provide DL

In the scenario above the officer would not answer no. The driver has to provide those things.

Re: Wasn't wearing seatbelt, was delivering a pizza...

What do you mean by a secondary offence?
Are you an officer/retired officer? I thought it was a common term. I even googled it before I posted to make sure.

Schreech, you are correct that I meant a secondary offence is one that you cannot be pulled over for. You get pulled over for the primary offence....i.e. speeding, then the officer sees that ...

Re: Wasn't wearing seatbelt, was delivering a pizza...

You got no replies so you assumed that meant it was fallible. Why not make the other assumption ?

When operated correctly I never saw anything to question the reading. The reading and the observation go hand in hand.

I'm all for fighting tickets at the right time but jsherk goes the extra mile by trying to recommend ridiculous defences which are ...

Re: Wasn't wearing seatbelt, was delivering a pizza...

You misunderstand... I am compelled to give my license, which I do , but only after asking "Am I required to give that to you?" followed by "Here is my license but I am giving it to you because I have to and I am not giving it to you voluntarily". Any compelled information obtained (whether a statement or a drivers license) can not be used against ...

Re: Wasn't wearing seatbelt, was delivering a pizza...

Agreed with the eye roll. You'd be laughed out of court trying you say that any identification should be thrown out of court because you were compelled to give your drivers license. Jsherk had given some good advice in the past but appears to be becoming more and more 'out there'. From counseling offers to counseling purgery to recommending a ...

Re: URGENT: London, ON voting on RED LIGHT CAMERAS

Tks "jsherk" for sending the email. Soldiers died for a freedom and now we are letting unrepresentative government take away our freedoms with good intentions of course.
$325 ticket, give me a break, plus insurance penalties for 3 years? Why not make it $550, make more money.

Warning - rant ahead.

As a former soldier (who lost good friends) I'm ...

Re: Wasn't wearing seatbelt, was delivering a pizza...

This exemption is for people who might be stopping at every few houses. I think it would be hard to apply to a pizza delivery driver.

Re: 2 tickets, 2 different courthouses. Cop says Quota Syste

This is the most bizarre thread. I personally have a huge issue if coppers are writing tickets for offences that don't exist. Plus quotas are nonsense and no officer should have to make up charges because there are so many out there.

If I even caught one of my recruits doing this I'd punch them in the throat !

Re: 2 tickets, 2 different courthouses. Cop says Quota Syste

I'm still interested in the OP's explanation for the different offences than those he related in the original post particularly where he made specific reference to the officer saying the charge might be dropped if a DL was presented to the prosecutor.

Re: 2 tickets, 2 different courthouses. Cop says Quota Syste

These are two tickets from the same ticket book (sequential numbering) so would be the same courthouse. Plus the charges are number plate light and headlight nothing about your licence.

I suggest you got stopped and got issued two tickets. Happens all the time.

Post the tickets. I call bullshit too.....no-one risks a 90k a year job for a quota.
