Re: Triform using cheaper cows?

Speaking of "made in Canada," the Triform notebooks say "Published in Canada by [Carswell?]..." What does that mean? Same as "Distributed in Canada," or is it like "Printed in Canada"?

"Published in Canada" instead of "made in Canada" might have something to do with the recent restrictions on labelling something as "made in Canada," but I can't ...

Re: 144(18) - should I plead not quilty?

Approaching a tcs showing a circular red... , so it must be red before you enter the intersection? The officer has stated (as part of the transcript and as part of his will say statement, that it was not red until I was halfway through the intersection. So he charged me with the wrong thing and this is my defense. Could it be that simple?

Yes ...

Just wanted to be sure here... were you pulled over at the time of the alleged offence? Where was the pedestrian at the time you were approaching the crosswalk?

My timmies cup and its contents landed on his windshield by accident.

Note to self: Don't get Marquisse angry. Although, that was pretty funny. If I had witnessed it, I think I would have made a point of getting his attention and telling him what a nice windshield he had.

Pennies and spark plugs are old rider tricks (even though ...

Re: Driving while under suspension

Just wanted to clarify... in the other thread you mentioned you were charged with Drive Disqualified. Was it the Criminal Code charge Drive Disqualified or HTA Drive while Suspended?

If it's Criminal Code... get professional legal help ASAP!

Re: Triform using cheaper cows?

see cheaply made products everyday. pretty much everything has become cheaper only to not last as long. We used to buy solid core tennis balls for our dogs to use.

"Wal-Mart effect." Products made cheaper, consumers flock to the lower price, but as always, "you get what they pay for." About the only exception to that are most groceries; local ...

I stopped behind him and noticed he was pointing out one of the stores to his passenger. He then went to go, but stopped again for more discussion with his passenger. I assumed he didn't realize he was blocking the lane of traffic

He had just returned from a vacation in Yellowstone National Park and hadn't readjusted his driving habits. :evil ...

Re: 2 Toronto Parking tickets in 2 minutes!!!

By the way are they allowed to slap you with 2 tickets in 2 minutes? What's to stop a meter maid to just start camping next to a car and writing as many tickets as they can until the owner shows up and they slap him/her with $2000 worth of parking tickets?

For the same offence, the court would throw out all but one of them if Parking ...

Re: Received Disclosure - Questions concerning next steps?

I was thinking along the lines of first deconstructing the language of the two applicable sections in the POA (34 and 90) in order to show why they do not allow the invalid form to be "cured". Then I was going to provide case law where errors were "cured" in order to highlight specifics of where these sections apply.

Sounds like a good idea to ...

Re: Driving in Montana/Yellowstone

It's well worth the trip! If you want to avoid the crowds and bad driving, best time to go is in late May. Most of the Park has re-opened for the summer by then, but the tourists are still few and far between. There's still some snow on the ground in parts but the daytime temperatures in May usually are around 20C.

You could easily spend a week ...

Driving in Montana/Yellowstone

Just got back from a trip out west, and I think I've got to re-rank the worst places to drive in North America:

1. Toronto & New York City (tied for worst)
2. Boston
3. Montreal
4. Yellowstone National Park
5. Memphis

Yellowstone National Park... beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife, thousands of unique and amazing geothermal features (WOW - the ...

Re: Do I have a chance fighting a ticket for improper use of HOV

This charge might be difficult to beat, but you could always go through the motions. It's not going to be a huge fine or licence suspension or anything, unless you've already got a pile of tickets on your record. At least, give yourself some time to think: Check off not guilty, send in the paperwork and file a disclosure request. If you decide to ...
