Re: help???? i made a left turn and was in a accident

Given those circumstances, I'm going to +1 FyreStorm's recommendation of calling a paralegal. You will require professional help with this one. There's a form at the bottom of this page to fill out for a free no-obligation quote.

Re: What is an "intersection" ? Really, I don't know!

The definition can be found in Section 1 of the HTA:

"intersection" means the area embraced within the prolongation or connection of the lateral curb lines or, if none, then of the lateral boundary lines of two or more highways that join one another at an angle, whether or not one highway crosses the other;

Now here's the thing... I hope you're ...

Re: What's The Solution?

That wasn't Scarberia.....it never rains in Scarborough........

It wasn't Scarborough, but the guy was driving "Scarborough style," featuring such moves as:

- Make sudden turns from outside lanes (e.g. left turn from right lane, left turn from right lane)
- Drive 10-30 km/h under posted speed limit in left or middle lane
- Stop for no ...

Re: 153 In A 100 Zone (Highway 404 Southbound In Richmond Hill)

1) Where can I read information about the info you guys mention? Specifically about the case which determines if this "stunt driving law" is constitutional or not, and as well about the decision relating to proving you were not "stunt driving" to beat that charge?

2) How is it possible that these 2 driving offenses for which he has not had a ...

Re: What's The Solution?

Reflections, I couldn't agree more.

I believe that a combination of proper training and enforcement could eventually fix our society's behavior. If training reinforces proper lane discipline/road sharing and enforcement irons out the real wrinkles in our driving habits (instead of just what's easy to prove in court), driving will become safer and ...

Re: Can we discuss Debit Card Skimming on here?

A couple of years ago, one of my wife's friends had her debit card information skimmed from a gas pump. Windsor Police told her that this is the most common place for skimming to occur, and said they'd never use debit at a gas station, only cash or credit.

Most bank ATMs have that plastic tongue thingy that is specifically designed to stop ...

Re: 153 In A 100 Zone (Highway 404 Southbound In Richmond Hill)

I wouldn't go into court against this charge without professional help. Shop around, see who seems the most professional and willing to tackle the case. The consequences of a conviction are quite steep, namely $2000 in fines and 6 demerit points, possible additional licence suspension and a huge insurance increase.

The thing is, Stunt Driving is a ...

Re: 98-70 zone

The only way to start the process is to put in the paperwork to fight the ticket... request the trial option & file the notice to appear (which is what you're doing).

At that point, you've at least delayed the conviction going on your record. You could consider trying to plea bargain to 15-over, which would be zero demerit points. They may have a ...

My insurer has 45 km/h+ is major, 16-44 km/h over is minor, 15 km/h or less is forgiven (first one), any additional are minor.

Side note: Last year TPS was pulling over drivers who were on the DVP and driving slowly in the far left lane, although that practice seems to have stopped. (The pulling over part of it, not the slow people in the left lane.)

Re: help???? i made a left turn and was in a accident

No insurance? Was the vehicle insured at the time or not? I mean, you said you didn't call your insurance company "immediately," but you have up to 7 days to make a claim.

If the vehicle was insured at the time, the "no insurance" charge is easily beaten. Just bring documentation from your insurer to court and they will withdraw the charge against ...

Re: parking tickets, commercial vehicle, new brunswick plates

The problem is, all of the provinces and many US states have reciprocity for traffic and parking tickets.

Basically the courts will sent the information back to New Brunswick that your fines are unpaid. New Brunswick will see that you've acquired Ontario licence plates, and forward it to MTO. When MTO gets the information, they will not renew your ...
