Re: Has anyone had their speeding ticket revised to the orig

I just have not seen it happen, but hear it threatened all the time if you don't agree to a lesser charge and spare the trial. Every person I hear this told too decides it's not worth the probabilities so they plead to the lesser charge. Prosecutors are at this every day and not intimidated, so they perceive they are providing a break if you ...

Has anyone had their speeding ticket revised to the original

Keep reading that the prosecutor has the option to amend the ticket in cases of speeding back to the original charge if it had been reduced originally. Has any one actually had this occur or is it a scare tactic of the prosecutors?

Most cases that I have sat through in traffic court in both Toronto and Peel, charges are agreed to be reduced to ...

Anyone had a ticket reverted to the original speed?

I see numerious comments on the board of folks who want to fight a ticket in which the speed had been reduced by the officer, and warnings of the courts having the authority to revise the ticket back to the original speed before reduction. Has anyone actually had this done to them or is it a scare tactic by the procescutors? :?:

Re: ANY Assistance Would Be Appreciated!

The snow storm may be you "get out of jail free" ticket. The officer may be instructed not to appear in court that day due to the traffic mess on the roads and not show up. Make sure you do show and leave extra early to ensure you get there in time for court. Possibly even the prosecutor or the JP may not show due to the storm.

Re: My observations at traffic court in Markham

I can not remember the last traffic court that was not set on a working day. It is not about just having one matter, courts trying to be fiscally responsible to the public, so that as minimal OT is incurred as possible for officers. Officers also like days off to be with family.

I haven't been on traffic court for over 15 years now, but back in ...

Re: My observations at traffic court in Markham

My observations at traffic court in Mississauga. Went this afternoon for some entertainment and tips. Prosecutor was a smart one, and very aggressive. Called all the defendants to advise her of their intentions in court that day. Advised them of the charges and how many demerit points and fine amount for each charge but she only knew of one officer ...

Re: Speeding - 120km/h in a posted 100km/h zone - no radar..

Saw this dismissed in court one time by a paralegal asking for the certificate of certification of the speedometer, or last date of maintanence/testing of the speedo. Officer stated it said on his speedo it was certified but no dates or further info. Paralegal asked if the speedo gear or cable had ever been altered or repaired, and the officer ...

Re: charged with 119 km in an 80 Km while passing....

Obviously the officer was more focused on issueing tickets than worrying about public safety. One would think he should have thought to himself there was an impaired driver on the road who was weaving and swerving, and as part of public safety he should have gave chase to investigate, or be held accountable if a fatality had occured up the road ...

Police Officer sign in at the court office

Is there a location at the court office where you can determine if the officer has appeared for court that day? I didn't see much of the officer who gave me a ticket and on court day I don't want the prosecutor making a deal with me prior to the trial to find out the officer wasn't there to testify.

Seems I recall many many years ago that there ...

Speeding 5KM over but what if disclosure notes missing info?

Was travelling SB on Mt Pleasant Rd in Toronto in the left lane, proceding down a hill, with a large SUV four car lengths ahead of me. Suddenly an officer walked onto the road and indicated to the SUV to pull over. Then suddenly he also motioned myself over. The SUV pulled to the curb lane and placed his four way flashers on, and I decided to enter ...
