I got a ticket in November 26 since I haven't validated my sticker on 17 Nov. viz. expiry of my car validated sticker.
I have got the new one issued next day.

There is no defence per se if the validation was expired. That being said, some jurisdictions will withdraw the charge if you show the Crown it wasn't grossly expired and you quickly remedied the problem.
