Re: Going 125 Km on 404 N highway

He gave me this ticket just to abuse his power. Regional police never give tickets on the highway, only under extreme circumstances. Going 125 on the highway is not extreme especially in the express lane where people are going 140+. He was mad because I was driving in front of him and didn't move ou...

Re: Going 125 Km on 404 N highway

Yes but my argument isn't "haha i was going 125 not 130". My argument is the speed he got on his camera was different than my speedometer meaning his camera could not be correctly calibrated or there is possibly no evidence at all and he guessed 130. Would this not be enough proof to get the ticket ...

Re: Going 125 Km on 404 N highway

Yes, i understand what you are saying. I actually did see the police behind me and i did keep an eye on my speedometer and it did not pass 126 km/h. If he is showing 130 that means he is either guessing or does not have proper evidence. The only other alternative is that my speedometer showed a diff...

Re: Going 125 Km on 404 N highway

I also forgot to mention on the ticket he wrote R130 as the code. This means i was travelling at 130 km/h and he reduced the fine to 115. I was not going 130, this number is incorrect. I had cruise control set to 125 km/h. There was a slope and the car was going down hill, i imagine the car sped up ...

Going 125 Km on 404 N highway

Hey Guys, I need some advice. I got a speeding ticket for going 115 km on 404 N. The real speed i was going was 125 km/h on the express lane. A local york region police officer was driving behind me (did not know they could give tickets on highway) and he pulled me over saying i was going 130 and hi...

Re: Can police see insurance by running plates?

Oh okay because a friend of mine told me while checking your license plates a police can -> See whether the vehicle is insured or not -> See which insurance company the vehicle is i never knew they had access to that information. I know a couple of people who drive using the "pink slip". I think the...

Re: Court date - How to tell if Officer is in court?

The only way to know for sure if officer is there, is to ask prosecutor when you meet with them before court starts, although they have no obligation to tell you. I have seen some prosecutors that are very honest about it and will tell you up front that the officer is not there, but there are other...

Re: Court date - How to tell if Officer is in court?

If you're asking if there's some sort of bulletin on the door or a list you can check, the answer is no. The officer could be waiting patiently in the court room or they could be somewhere in the building. Usually, it's not essential for that the officer be in the room the first little while of a s...

Court date - How to tell if Officer is in court?

Hey guys, I have a court date coming up on Sept 1. I was wondering if there is a way to check if the police officer has showed up in court prior to the trial?
This is my first time in traffic court, any suggestions?

If officer shows up in court, how do i plea guilty instead of proceeding with trial?

Can police see insurance by running plates?

Hey, I have a question that I was just asking out of curiosity. I think a lot of people other than me are wondering this and I always get mixed responses from people. Before anything, I have valid insurance (as you can see from my previous ticket, i wasn't fined $9000 for not having insurance). Anyw...

Re: Ran a red light and caused an accident

Yesterday received "Notice of Motion" for the "re-opened" case date to April 1 as the witness is not available on original date of April 20th. I have a specialist doctor's appointment on that date. Can I object to the given date and ask them to set another date? What is the procedure for that? I th...

Re: New regulation in the news

It's not odd, many people don't know their rights. They feel like they have to provide the officer everything they ask for. I think this law is necessary for the individuals who don't know their rights.

Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone

Well, no matter what your reason for speeding is. If the speed limit on those roads are 80 km/h and you were going 130 km/h, by the court you are considered guilty. It sucks, I'm in a bad situation too, but this is how our government likes to earn money. Anyways your best bet is to fight the ticket,...

Re: No seatbelt/no licence on highway

I know this is kind of out of topic, but I'm just curious because I never got a ticket for no seatbelt before, mostly because of the annoying beep noise my car makes when you don't have a seatbelt on. If you get pulled over for a seatbelt ticket, does the police officer have to provide any sort of e...

Re: No seatbelt/no licence on highway

Request a trial, don't plead guilty.

You can't get charged for the "warning".

How did he possibly see that you didn't wear your seatbelt when you were driving 100km/h (im sure you were going faster) on the highway?
