Crossmark Vs Checkmark

by: dwelsby on

Hi all,

Does anyone have any info on ticket writing procedures. I can seem to find anything in this forum regarding a "cross in a box" vs a "checkmark in a box" on a ticket. I read somewhere that it was considered a minor error with a possibility that it would null the ticket but I can't seem to find anything on this forum that verifies this or anywhere in the HTA for that matter.

Thanks :D

Minor errors will not quash the ticket. In your case, I wouldn't even consider it to be an "error" at all. If an error on the ticket were to violate a right of the defendant (such the wrong statute specified), then it would likely be dismissed.

It would not be listed in the HTA, that is one Act of many that are wrote on the same Provincial Offence Notice.
