Re: Requesting disclosure in toronto

kend7510, your best defense is the officer not showing up, but don't count on it. And, since you were speeding, you will likely be found guilty. These tactics (asking for disclosure), in my opinion, are just ways to use the system to have your case dismissed. They often work, but you have ot educate yourself by reading more and more sites.

I don't ...

Pet peeve #2: Cutters.

I like Proper1' s pet peeve. I drive a luxury car and will not let these jerks in, especially if there is space behind me. Most will not "force-it and will eventually back off, presumeably for fear of having to pay to repaint my my car.

Don't get me wrong, if I'm in the right lane, I move to the left and give people room to merge (unlike those ...

Re: What are your Driving Pet Peeves?

First and foremost... I hate people failing to chage lanes when an emergency vehicle (such as a police cruiser) is on the shoulder of a highway. By far, one of the best new laws ever introduced in this province. As a matter of fact, when I get pulled over, I exit the highway first. The officer sometimes gets pissed, but when I explain that it was ...

Re: Requesting disclosure in toronto

Sorry COMBAT, I didn't mean to step on your reply... he can definetely use a form if he is more comfortable with that, but the Crown is wise to these templates and forms and know it's just a tactic that they can easily counter. Plus a letter looks more like it's coming from a lawyer or paralegal and they feel just a tiny bit intimidated by that.

Re: Requesting disclosure in toronto

You do not have to fill out, or send in a form to request discloure ... all you do is send a letter (using your own words) to the Prosecutors Office (be sure to metion the date, offense # and big bolded letters "REQUEST FOR DISCLOSURE"). Make sure your address is on the letter but NOT your phone #. This is critical as you do not want anyone ...

Re: Airplane Caught Me!

COMBAT, thanks for the info... VERY helpful.... especially having the info about VASCAR .. so I will then ask for a training certificate to prove the officer knows how to operate such device (well, first, I'll find out if that was indeed the device he used) ... AND, I will definitely ask for proof (assuming some kind of certificate) that those ...

Follow too close AND the guy in front

I got a Following to Close charge but shouldn't the guy in front of me also be charged for being in the left lane (2 lane hwy)? I mean, the left lane is suppose to be for passing? There was no one in front of him, so he was breaking the law for not moving over when I approached him (and he shouldn't have been in that lane in the first place). I ...

Re: Airplane Caught Me!

I'm curious though, how can the areal officer (observer) testify to the altitude and air speed of the plane? I really think the pilot needs to a witness too. That makes it 3 witnesses. Maybe BOTH officers in the plane are pilots?

How does the aerial officer see that far to the ground? Does he (or she) use binoculars?

Re: New Member? Come and say Hi and Introduce yourself here! :)

Hello everyone. Good site. Just needs some more traffic to be a really great site ... ugh, bad pun I know!

I am not a reckless driver, but would have to say a bit aggressive. I don't weave in and out, but I do get my speed up there every now and again. And, yes, I "push" those slow left laners out of the way. Sorry if that was you.

I get about 1 ...

Airplane Caught Me!

So I got pulled over for speeding and following too close, on HWY 11 north of Barrie. The airplane caught me! I will fight this as I have fought ALL my tickets and won EVERY ONE of them (one per year... man I need to drive slower). So any thoughts out there on how to fight this one? Does the Crown have to bring the 2 officers in the plane, plus the ...
