Re: Fatal error No signature....please help
I would suggest ignoring it completely - the ticket 'is not complete and proper on its face' and therefore should be dismissed by the jp on the 45th day - however, some jp's will not notice this error and will convict you in your absence - if that occurs, the next step is appeal - once the appeal docs are in, the prosecutor who will defend the ...

Re: Red Light Camera Ticket - Ottawa
Here's the way it works in Ottawa;
It used to be you could negotiate a reduction in the fine on a guilty plea, no more. There is no defence and no one defends them.
Get your trial date by selecting the trial option. Attend on the date and plead guilty - once you're found guilty you can ask the JP to reduce the fine to whatever amount. However, be ...

Re: Driving While Suspended
You were set up.
Appear on your first date and set a date for trial - at the same time submit a disclosure request - when the trial date has been set, subpoena the officer who did the background check. Do not accept a trial date longer than three months hence. When the prosecution requests an adjournment, be prepared to object strenuously. I also ...

Re: Quebec Driver, Ontario Unpaid Fines -- Driving while Sus
Some things you need to know about the feds and court in Ottawa - it will always be on a Tuesday morning in room 103 - they change prosecutors reqularly which annoys the city prosecutors and jp's - if you have been charged under the HTA S. 53 you need to know if that officer has special constable status with the Ottawa police - if you have been ...

Re: Obtaining G licence before prosecution of G2 violation
You sound like someone that should NOT have the privilege to drive! G1 you had issues, driving with someone that was drunk! Then driving alone! Then drinking and driving! Hope you fail your G. [/b]

Re: Getting a professional opinion
Here's my take on Careless,
A conviction is so serious many young people and adults can't afford the insurance - there is one insurance company that will immediately increase rates to 20k per annum upon conviction - others may not be so bad, but believe me, it is very, very bad.
I have watched numerous people defend themselves and family members ...

Re: Driving no insurance ---- Disclosure issue
This is what I would do;
Attend on the date - when called for trial stand and state clearly and calmly (the tape must pick up what's said) - 'your worship' on these dates and times we have attend court and/or spoken with the prosecutor in an effort to obtain disclosure - to date, no disclosure has been provided. Therefore, I am bringing a motion ...

Re: 106km/h in a 60km/h
Yes, I think it was an RCMP, does that make any difference?
Sure does;
If you opted for trial it will be held on a Tuesday morning only at 100 Constellation
The prosecutor you encounter on your trial date will likely not be the one you ultimately deal with as they are only articling students employed by Justice and are transferred

Re: 106km/h in a 60km/h
Is it safe to say you received this from the RCMP and not the Ottawa police?
