Bring a receipt from a shop to show that you had the lights fixed. The prosecutor most likely will ask you to plead guilty to the driving under the influence and withdraw the lights ticket stating that you have repaired the problem.

Re: Question about accuracy of Aerial Surveillance in Court

I'm confused about the reaction time. Specifically the 'spread' (.3 seconds on both ends).

{hash} (.3 sec) [START] -------- 500m -------- {hash} (.3 sec) [STOP]

If the officer presses the start button .3 seconds AFTER the start hash marks (or whatever those lines are called) - then he would have .3 seconds after the stop has mark as well. so ...

Re: Trial is @ 2pm

I'm not sure about other court houses... but the Markham Road one:

When you are scheduled to go in at 2:00. If you go early, you'll have to wait outside with everybody else that is scheduled for 2:00. Once it's around 1:55/2ish... the prosecutor will announce something like "Everybody waiting for court E2 please enter now". Then you all line up ...

Re: Trial's Coming up in a week!

Find the confirmation for the first request!

1) Go to the court house.

2) Line up to see the prosecutor

3) Tell him/her your name - she will look at her docket list and see the charge.

-- at this point, she may also see that disclosure was not given to you and may hand something to you. (re-read the ticket combat site about this).

If you ...

Should I take it to court?

YES. (http://www.ticketcombat.com/)

1) Option 3.
2) Request Disclosure after you get the trial date
3) Attend trial.

possible outcomes.
1) Cop doesn't show or lost his notebook.
2) You didn't get disclosure
3) Make a Plea deal
4) Go to Trial - reasonable doubt - no conviction.

Re: how quickly can you stop by travelling at 84km?

Sorry, was busy this week --

If I agree to pay the lower fine , would they reduce it down to zero point?
Depending on the prosecutor - they usually give you a new charge and not tell you if any points are associated to it or not. There are two 'systems' in play...

1) your ticket carries a FINE - break the law -- if convicted -- pay a penalty ...

Re: Fail to stop, guilty but don't want to lose points

Simon is correct - Points are MTO... Once you're convicted, the conviction is entered and MTO assigns points.

And also, you don't LOSE points... Kind of like Golf, 0 (zero) is a good number.

But yes, do not chose option 2. Option 3... Not guilty and request a trial.

From there, the prosecutor may offer you a plea deal with less or no points. If ...

Re: how quickly can you stop by travelling at 84km?

1) Request a Trial.
2) Receive Date.
3) Request Disclosure.

Usually in disclosure the officer will state in his notes how far the reading was taken. eg: 250 meters... and weather and such...

If you can show in pictures and/or video that he clocked out outside the 50 zone, then you can have a chance of winning. (don't show that the previous zone ...

Re: parking in fire route

Was the van transmission shifter at the 'P' position? Not that it matters since you're at a full stop blocking the fire route. He/She could have simply knocked on the window and asked you to move, but I guess he wanted his ticket count to go up.

I'm sure the by-law enforcer was still standing there with a stop watch too.

File for a court date and ...
