Re: Insurance claims I was in an accident?
A hit and run with injuries means there must be a police report. If there was a police investigation I find it odd that no one from the police would have contacted you. I would contact TD Insurance's main claims number at 1-866-454-8910, and confirm wit someone there that the person you are speaking to is an actual adjuster from TD and that your ...

i> insurance asked me "do I know if the other driver was charged", how would I know? They usually split up the parties, so an interesting question
Then just say "I don't know"

Re: Speeding Ticket using DashCam Footage
You can figure out the time based on the frames per second the video was shot at. So if the video was shot at 30 frames per second, and it took 60 frames for the object to pass between the two points you are using to measure distance, then you know it took 2 seconds for the object to pass between he two objects. However if the camera wasn't sitting ...

Re: Electronic Proof of Insurance Cards - accepted by LEOs?
The only electronic liability cards that are approved for use is the liability cards that Uber drivers use to show that they are insured under Uber's policy with Intact insurance. This was approved by The Superintendent of Insurance July of last year. Uber drivers still have their paper liability card from their primary insurer, however they are ...

Re: Ticket advice
How much a minor ticket like following too closely will affect your rates depends on i) which company you are insured with, ii) how many years you have been licensed and iii) what your driving record was like before you received the ticket. My first point is because some insurers offer a conviction free discount, some do not, Some insurers will ...

Re: Question about fault: Failure to avoid a collision?
It doesn't hurt to send in the video to the adjuster however it is unlikely your daughter would be able to deemed not at-fault. The best she could hope for is 50/50, but that is a long shot as that situation is described in the Fault Determination Rules. So unless the other vehicle is insured outside the province the insurers will follow the Rules ...

Re: Rear Ended with no insurance
I will not address the possibility of being charged as others have addressed this issue. However I will address this question:
<<Will my vehicle still get damages fixed if I am deemed 100% not at fault?>>
Section 265 (7) of the Ontario Insurance Act states:
No person has a right of action against any other person in respect of damage to an ...
