Re: Failure to stop for a school bus
The fact that the school bus was traveling in the other lane makes me wonder what are you afraid of? That is not an infraction.
My friend and I were driving along (not speeding), then right after she noticed she passed a school bus traveling in the opposite lane. It is her grandfather's car, but her grandfather was in the hospital ICU post heart ...

Fight it. There are at least 3 reasons for that:
You will delay the conviction entering your record by about 1 year, you have a chance to win if the officer is absent in court and also the crown can lower your speed to under 15 km/h over (most likely).

"The testimony of the defendant has to be believed" ???
As per Eric Lai in thestar.com:
"The Supreme Court had held that the testimony of the defendant, unshaken under cross-examination, is to be believed."
http://www.wheels.ca/article/asset/795508
Is that true?

Re: Should I fight it?
Fight it! At least you will delay the moment when the ticket gets on your record. Second, if there are other cars around at night, it is quite easy to create reasonable doubt about which car was speeding.

Charges withdrawn
Just came back from the court - a pretty interesting experience. First of all, there where over 40 people there and I was the only one who pleaded not guilty and stuck to his guns. Isn't this strange???

Since the prosecutor did not provide the radar testing procedure, even though I asked for disclosure in regards to any evidence they will introduce, can I ask the court to not accept such evidence in case the prosecution starts asking the officer about these testing procedures?

Thanks a lot, your explanations are extremely helpful.

Re: Please help me understand the officer's notes
Thanks Radar Identified.
The other thing is that I asked for disclosure in regards to any evidence the prosecution intends on bringing to court. As I said, I did not get a single page from the lidar manual. Please help me understand the officer's notes
First of all, thanks everybody for the wealth of information on this forum.
I asked and received disclosure for a speeding ticket 70 in 50 zone. I have attached the ticket and officer's notes here (JPG format). Can you please explain to me what is written there? I have no idea what he means.
