Help? Stop At Wrong Place

Female parental has a clean driving record.

Scenario that we were driving our car and came to a stop sign, the police vehicle was patrolling the street before we went pass him. The police vehicle flagged us before we came to another stop sign, where he ticketed us for stopping at the wrong place.

ETA: We went to court today, but they would only deduct two demerit points off.
