Set Fine Amount

by: outboardguy on

Hi...Where do I find out how much the set fines are supposed to be for a speeding offence? Also, if my ticket's set fine amount is not the same as the provincial amounts should be, is this justification to quash the ticket??

Thanx...Tony

Check out this page:

As for the amount of the set fine being different than the amount prescribed in the Highway Traffic Act, that is not grounds to quash it. Set fine amounts are essentially written for out-of-court settlements.

Now if the set fine amount is wrong (set fine per the table on the website I directed you is different than what is on your ticket), that is grounds to quash it. Again, ticketcombat's website tells you how to do it.
