Short version: Got pulled over early friday morning for 'improper rear lights'. The officer walked over, said,"i smell alcohol." She asked me to give a breathalyzer and I blew a 0.019. I'd had 1 glass of wine with dinner about 5 hours ago. Since I have a G2, the 0.019 is illegal
10 minutes later I…
I received a ticket today which stated the offense as "Drive motor vehicle. Fail to display two plates", contrary to Section 7(1)(B)(i). I read up on that section of the Highway Traffic Act but do not see any mention of having to display two plates. It does say the plates must be displayed "in…
Ok here's the situation, a close friend of mine came to a stop and exited his viehicle on private property. At this point of exiting the vehicle, he came to notice a silenced cruiser behind (no lights or visible indication that the officer was intent on stopping his vehicle) The officer demanded…

Please help us. Today, my 17 yr old son was pulled over for driving 138 in 80 zone. He was told to turn off the engine and put the keys on the dash and exit the vehicle. He did so without saying a word because he was very scared -two cruisers pulled him over. The officer told him he was driving 138…
Hi, I have been through as many related posts as I could and would still like to ask for input.
First of all, let me say I understand that I turned left and ultimately I am responsible for seeing the sign. However, I have two issues with my ticket:
1. The infraction.
I was travelling south on Hwy 400…
According to TicketCombat.com: "The radar or laser (lidar) gun has to be on the same vector as your direction of travel." www.ticketcombat.com/step3/lookaround.php
Can anyone expand on this, case law or some other reference would be great.
My friend was coming down hill on a bridge on Brimley and…

Hello. Great site. Feel free to edit or delete my messages if need be.

Hopefully we won't have to ![]()
Re: New Member? Come and say Hi and Introduce yourself here! :)
In my view, you have too many thread stickied. You should have no more than 2 threads pinned, the others should float like all other threads. This way the popular threads stay at the very top of this section of the board.
Just a suggestion, though.
Re: New Member? Come and say Hi and Introduce yourself here! :)
Hello everyone! This is a great site. I've been really impressed with all of the information here. Keep up the good work! ![]()
I've got a keen interest in traffic law and road safety. That's partly because I'm in the process of slowly writing a book about driving (talking about local driving habits, weird incidents, traffic laws, driving smarter, etc.) Most of it will deal with driving around the GTA. If anyone has any suggestions/comments/ideas/input, let me know! It's still a work in progress.
Also, on a non-HTA topic, if anyone has any questions about airlines, aviation or flying, you can also PM me and I'll do my best to respond.

Hello M,
Welcome to OHTA.ca.
Re: New Member? Come and say Hi and Introduce yourself here! :)
Hi all,
First time on any forum, but I have spent a few hours today reading the very helpful information available here. I was ticketed two weeks ago (details coming soon) and found this site by seeking information on the validity of the ticket and resources needed in fighting it. I think I have found a place with mature and insightful advice... thanks to those who have built and run this site.

To have your picture show in posts (which I fixed for you above), do the following two steps:
1. Use BBCode enabled (this is by defualt, unless 'Disable BBCode in this post' option is checked)
2. Use the BBcode
Code: Select all

The number "8" represents a emoticon. Each tim you cite the number 8 in a provison the emoticon appears instead of the number.
You should remove that emoticon or change it so it's not represented by the number 8.

These are standard emoticons. If you want to disable smilies in posts then check the option "Disable Smilies in this post".
And the number "8" by itself is not a smiley.
This would make a smiley:
Code: Select all
8)which would look like this ![]()
Just remember if you want to disable smilies in posts make sure to check the "Disable Smilies in this post" check box.
