Re: When do the police call off a chase?

Yes traffic was light, but there were other vehicles on the highway. I imagine they came off the DVP becuase there were no OPP cars assisting and none joined in. I can honestly say I've never seen a car go that fast on the highway as he was just a blip, like a sneeze and then you couldn't even see h...

When do the police call off a chase?

Around 3:00 a.m this morning I came off the 404 south onto the 401 west collector lanes. I moved over to the centre lane and had my window open a bit because I was having a cigarette. All of a sudden two lanes over to my left, what appeared to be a Porsche, passed me doing at least 250 k/mh. Just a ...

Was this person wrong?

Was on King Rd. at a red light waiting to turn right (south), onto Yonge St., first car at the intersection. To my left I see a bus stopped in the right turn lane , south bound Yonge. Beside this right turn lane are two southbound lanes too. The bus is stopped picking up passengers with his four way...

Slowly I'm starting to think that along with the mandatory written and driving tests an IQ test may be in order.

Re: 69 in a 40: Question about Sign Regulations

In Simon's defense, he devotes and volunteers a lot of his time here to help those like you and others. He, along with a few other people here, have years of experience to help and advise people such as yourself and do not benefit from doing so.

Re: Interesting - Speed vs Collisions Avoidance

I agree that the speed you indicated might be a top end in order to avoid a collision during moderate or light conditions, but feel that at severe snow or ice conditons it is much lower. I may be wrong here, but at high speeds on slippery conditions you have less pounds per square inch making contac...

Just my thoughts....

Just about everyday I am on three different highways. I notice quite a difference in the driving habits of drivers on Hwy. 400, Hwy . 401, and Hwy 404/DVP. The 400 drivers are nuts. They all follow too closely and irregardless of weather conditions or lighting, all drive at least 30 k/mh over the li...

Re: Loud Muffler question

In regards to the db meter, when I was a teen Toronto police did have them. We used to go cruising down Yonge St., many of us with our windows open and stereos blaring, stuck in bumper to bumper traffic north of the Eaton Centre. The police used to be standing on the edge of the sidewalk with db met...

PLATE QUESTION

Maybe this has been answered before and if so I apologise for doing so again. Here goes: Sold my vehicle the other day and removed plates. Want to buy another used one today ( Sunday). MTO closed. Can I put on my old plates and use my ownership and insurance slip till Monday so that I can drive the ...

I know the law may be the law , but the guys on the bikes don't really bother me. Most of the time it's some guy going through male menopause on his Harley taking his kid out for a five minute ride for an ice cream and maybe puts 200 kms on it all year, or the longest ride may be a charity run. It's...

On the 404 I've seen Yukons/Suburbans, Caravans, and Tributes that have pulled cars over. On Yonge St. in Thornhill just north of Clark I've seen the Envoy pulling cars over too. Just the other day a black suburban came up on me with lights and siren on but to tell you the truth I didn't notice him ...

Every day either my wife or I take that 404 south HOV lane to the DVP south to take the kids to school. I can't tell you how many times I've had to pound on the brakes or swerve to the concrete barrier to my left because some (deleted) decides to cut over from stopped traffic while I'm doing 80-100 ...
