Re: Incomplete/improper disclosure
Again, thanks for your responses. @Stanton - Yes, I am/was the registered owner of the vehicle, which I was initially thought that R/O may mean something different. If, in this case, not R/O does indicate not registered owner, is the something I could bring up to question the accuracy of the officer's notes? @hwybear - After examining the owner's manual (unfortunately Ultralyte LRB's which i was provided and not Marksman 20/20 which was used), under operating temperature, the manual reads "do not expose the instrument to temperatures out that range" (-30c - +60c). In the officer's no...

Re: Incomplete/improper disclosure
Thanks for the reply Stanton. I has a feeling the weather report printouts from websites would be questionable in regards to their admissibility. But I'm at a total loss as to where I can find more legitmate sources. I'll probably head down to the library and see if the have archived newspapers. Anyays, I guess I'll go to court and see if the officer is there and and if he is, then I'll ask for an adjournment. Oh, one more question , in the transcribed notes there is a line that reads Not R/O. Does anyone know what this means? R/O = reporting officer??
Thanks,
Toby
Thanks,
Toby

Incomplete/improper disclosure
Hi All, In preparation for my speeding case later this week, I've noticed that the lidar manual that was included in my disclosure, was for the wrong lidar unit. In the officer's notes he indicates that the unit that was used was the Laser Marksman 20/20 LTI device, while the manual that was included in my disclosure was for the Ultralyte LRB. After doing some research, I was unable to obtain the Marksman's manual as it appears that it's an older unit. Being an older unit, is it fair to assume that the handling and testing procedures may differ from that of the much more modern Ultralyte LRB? ...

Re: Transcibed officer electronic notes
Thanks all for the responses. I guess I'll go through the notes and manual again and see if i can find something/anything to challenge his evidence, if not I'll wait and see if he's a no-show.
Cheers!

Re: Transcibed officer electronic notes
Thank you both for your replies. When I met with the Crown it was explained to me that hand written notes are no longer used and the only notes available are these transcribed ones. I'm still confused as to how these notes are generated and how they become a printed version. I guess what I'm getting at is, I was hoping to challenge the legitimacy of the notes (if someone other than officer) typed them out and is not present in court to testify. At this point I know that the officer is the only witness the crown intends to call. Perhaps I'm grasping at straws... @Reflections In my disclosure re...

Transcibed officer electronic notes
Hi All, I am new to this forum and before making this post I did some digging and was unable to find anything on this method of officer note taking. A little back ground of my case: charged with 25km/h over the posted limit. After numerous disclosure requests, finally received a detailed disclosure including several pages of the lidar manual and typed officer notes describing the events of my infraction and testing procedures performed. I've requested the officer's hand written notes, however was informed that Durham Region now uses "Transcribed Electronic Notes and tickets" and that...
