Am I crazy if I fight this Careless driving ticket by myself?
Apologies if I have been posting too frequently, this is my last one. On December 31st I was entering a highway and lost control and ended up skidding into the on-ramp. There were no witnesses and no one else was involved. The officer that arrived charged me with careless driving. After requesting Disclosure on January 16th, I finally received it yesterday (June 12) which is only a few business days before my scheduled trial (June 18). The disclosure notes weren't very detailed and just showed the side of the ramp I hit first and noted the conditions were rainy & wet. After towing the car ...

Thanks you!Zatota wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 12:27 pm At the trial, explain how long you waited for disclosure and that you had just received it. Ask for an adjournment to give you time to prepare a full answer and defence. Also ask that the adjournment be noted as attributable to the Crown. It's not your fault it took five months.

Finally received disclosure! is it too late to request a new trial date?
On dec 31st I was charged with careless driving after an accident. The trial was set for June 18th and I intended on getting a paralegal to help fight the case.
I requested disclosure on January 16th and followed up multiple times since then. I finally received a call today (June 11) saying that the disclosure is available for pickup at the prosecutors office.
It is exactly a week before the trial and I would like to postpone to have time to make a proper defence with a paralegal.
What would be the best way to go about doing this?
Thanks!

June 18 Careless Driving Trial - Still no Disclosure Received
Hey all - On December 31st I was entering a highway lost control and ended up skidding into the on-ramp. There were no witnesses, no one else was involved and the only damage was to my vehicle. The officer that arrived charged me with careless driving. I requested disclosure on January 16th and have followed up multiple times but have still not received it. I am told they have requested it on three separate occasions but there is nothing else they can do. I opted to go to the early resolution meeting, but because neither of us had the disclosure documents he said we had to book a trial date. T...
