Ontario Highway Traffic Act

Good evening every one.
I got speeding ticket on july 1st,2013 while driving 144 kmh on 100 limit.officer being nice to me charged me for 110 kmh with only 40$ fine and no points.i live in Mississauga,but ticket location is Kingston.do i still need to go and appear or just pay for it.will it still affect my record.does it worth hiring paralegal ...
