75 Day Limit Question
Hey gang, I have a question on the 75 day limit for parking tickets. Is that the date the city issued it with for the notice of trial? I forgot about this rule and went in for an 18 month old parking ticket today and asked for a stay and the judge wouldn't accept it without the paperwork so I asked for an adjournment to file the requisite motions ...

Re: Victory is mine!
If I understood the above correctly, you don't need to go through the tedious paperwork of filing an 11b before requesting a stay of proceedings?
What paperwork is needed?
That isn't clear.
VICTORY IS OURS!!!!!!!!
:D
Technically speaking you don't require any paperwork, but if the judge is a jerk they'll make you file. It happened to me ...

Victory is mine!
Thanks to the good folks at Ticket Combat and here I finally prevailed after 2.5 years of the runaround regarding my talking on a cellphone and invalid permit sticker charges. First off, I wasn't guilty on the first count and the second was really no contest - I simply forgot about it. Anyway, 13 months for the original trial, then they ran out of ...

Re: Victory! Charges Withdrawn
Congratulations and excellent post, sir! I just wanted to chime in with my 2 bits about what you said about not challenging cops. It''s proabably the best advice you can give. I found early on that if you want to be a problem to the cops then they're going to be a problem for you and will go out of their way to show up in court to make sure you pay ...

Can you swear an affadavit in court re: 11b?
I noticed at Ticket Combat they state (http://www.ticketcombat.com/step4/howtofile_harder.php)....
State that a stay application is governed by section 109 of the Courts of Justice Act. This section requires 15 days notification to be given to the Attorneys General of Ontario and Canada. You have done this and you have the fax receipts to prove ...

Expired Validation Permit...
Hey all, anyone ever get a ticket for an expired validation permit before? I really quite simply forgot about and got a ticket. The cop told me to go to court and just show the judge I got a new permit - which I did the next day - and he would dismiss the ticket. Anyone ever deal with this before? Is that the case? What would you plead? No contest ...

Can you quash a ticket improperly given?
By that I mean, I have a court date coming up on Aug 24. 2011 (ticket was issued last July so I know there's a 11b issue there as well) for cell phone use whilst driving. However, in subesection 6 of the exemptions of the eact it states....
