Seems like a rip-off. Why pay $6.30 when you can spend 1/12 of that on postage(52 cents)?

You can pay the parking ticket by mail, visa and online for your convience.
However you CANNOT set a date trial date by mail, so say's option 3 on the back of a Toronto Parking Infraction Notice.
You or your agent must appear in person to set a trail date!
Well worth the 6 bucks!
Re: ParkingTickets.TO
The last time I went to do that I had to pay .50$ in the meter.
That is minimum.
Then you add on time and other bs $6.00 is not bad

Just don't be so lazy or cheap and park where you are supposed to.
Saves the 6 bucks and/or 50 cents and the ticket ![]()
Watching parking wars on TV. One guy gets a ticket every day...to park legally it was $26 bucks for a day, but a parking ticket (if tagged) was only $21 ![]()
Re: ParkingTickets.TO
Get a motorcycle and you don't have to pay for parking, in fact if you go to 55 John Street to set a date, there is a a good looking blonde there and plenty of eye candy ![]()
I took this shot in the summer on one of visits to 55 John Street!

Savings of $5 per day by breaking the law. ![]()
I get the feeling that the people responsible for the ticket being less than the pay parking won't figure it out even with the TV publicity.

Would you rather fall off the chair upon seeing a winter shot of mc's?

Took 3 parking tickets in today to John St. Went at lunch time, no line-up. I mean NO lineup at all. Took 3 minutes. And I didn't have a ticket when I got back to my car! Must be Christmas ![]()

In my opinion the lazy person is the one who uses visa and pays over phone.
I have over 10 challenged tickets to me and I have not heard back from any of them (for the court date)
There are something near 500,000 outstanding tickets out there and only
about 50 get delt with in a day.
I am a courier so they usually just delete most of my tickets.I have some that are over 3 years with no court date or response.
I think I could go in and check after 3 or more years and get them to delete them.

not outstanding just waiting for them to send me a court date.
In my case for some of them 3 years and no response.
As to stock hehe.I have paid them a lot.
When-ever you have a fine that you cannot pay on time you can go to the court and ask to talk to the jp.
You have to fill in forms and have the print-out
from toronto.
Toronto charges about a $ each for these now.
If you ever want a KODAC moment do this with a large handfull of those forms while waiting in the jp's office.
They will downgrade most of the tickets if you are nice to them and fill most of the forms leaving only the part they sign to them.

It's so funny you should mention that: I'm not from Toronto, but I was there for a weekend once, and I parked in an area that was clearly marked "2 hour parking". There was lots of snow on the ground, but the sign was pretty clear. I parked, left the car, and came back probably an hour and a half later to find a ticket for $30 for "parked without permit" and it said that it was a disabled spot! I was shocked! But being from out of town I just decided to mail my payment and take my licks on that one.
However: At my school, parking passes are $400 for the year (2 terms). Last year I got one on the first day of school, no problems. This year, I went on the first day and they were sold out of all the lots that were within reasonable walking distance to the campus. So I decided to put aside that $400 for tickets for the year. Each ticket is $15, and as of this month they have gone up to $25. I've only gotten 5 or 6 tickets since September, and now the 2nd term of the year is well under way, so I'm way ahead. Still a few weeks to go this term, but it's looking promising.

Somehow I doubt it..
universities are evil when it comes to parking passes.

I know, I went there! If you don't get there at 8am, or have one of the card access lots, you're basically screwed.

Re: ParkingTickets.TO
Forgive me if I come across as little dense...but parking tickets given by private companies or even city councils are surely illegal.
If someone requests that you pay an amount, surely you have to have agreed to pay for your default by having agreed to pay them by way of a contract with them if you fail to comply with their terms ? I don't recall having signed any contract with any company or City office agreeing to pay a fine for parking in any given space that they claim to own or have control over?
I tend to be a little matter of fact at times and usually see things straight down the middle as it were....so maybe I am missing something on the peripheries. Anyone else have any thoughts on this ?

So heres my case, does it have any validity? Im argueing that the officer did not have a justified view of where and if my car stopped or not, which it did.

This is the officers view of the stop sign i "disobeyed"

Another possible viewpoint, just so i can say that he cant see regardless

As you can see he cannot see the line where i must stop

As close are possible (which he wasnt) to the intersection,…
Help with Right of Way argument....
Hello.
I need some help to settle a "Right of Way" argument. I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times before, but after doing a search, I was unable to find a posting on the forum, or the specific section in the OHTA relating to it.

Two cars approach an intersection where the east and westbound directions are controlled by stop signs, and the north and southbound…
Help to Decipher Notes - 109 in 80
Hello,
I was pulled over for doing 123 in an 80 zone on highway 7 near Peterborough. The officer reduced it to 109 in an 80. It was HIGHLY unlikely that I was going 109, let alone 123, so for the merit of it I am taking this to court. Court case mid January.
Please could you help me to decipher the officer's notes. Are there any errors in the notes or on the ticket that you can see?

front license plate position in ontario
Hello,
Ive already done searches, read the act as best i can but still haven't read a complete answer. Where in the HTA does it state that the front license plate must be attached to the front bumper? I have it on the passenger sun visor (if ppl remember the old temp permits that taped to the pass side of windshield) i figured that this spot would be the same. However now they have got rid of…

Speeding defence for non-reduced ticket
Scenario regarding speeding charge - if a charge is not reduced at all at roadside, i.e. the charge, for example is "speeding 75 km/h in a 60 km/h zone contrary to s. 128," should that not mean the prosecution needs to prove that you are guilty of what you are being charged with, and not, simply, of speeding generally? I understand that if they prove a charge of even 61 km/h in a 60 km/h, they…

131 km/h in 100 km/h on QEW
Was stopped in an OPP speed trap on eastbound QEW near Hamilton at 1:30 AM last week (Apr 25th). Officer said I was doing 131 km/h based on radar gun but I thought I was around 120 km/h (I let off the gas and looked at my speedo when I saw the 2 cars on the shoulder). It was a dark stretch and it was not busy but there were a few other cars on the highway. I asked to see the reading but they said…
Rec'd Disclosure - Do I have a Case? Looking for advice.
Fined for speeding - 89 in a 60.
Court date is April 6.
Any advice on the following:
1) Discovery info includes 3 pages of Genesis radar manual. Officer's notes show he used "Atlantic Laser" to measure speed. Didn't show model # (only s/n). The Genesis was used earlier on in the day, but not for my case. Can I grill him on this or is it simply a clerk's error in sending me the wrong manual?

Highway lane usage
Hello,
I was just wondering if there was any text in the HTA that suggests that when driving on a highway with three lanes going in each direction, drivers should generally always be in the rightmost lane unless they are passing.
At first, I thought 154(b) was what I was looking for, but now I'm not so sure?
