High Penalty

Unread post by hall »

I received a $490 ticket and 3 demerit points for not changing lanes when a police car was stopped on the shoulder of a highway. I did not know that this new rule existed. Is there a defense against this ticket since I did not intentionly commit an offense?

It is not a new law.....it has been a law in Ontario since December 9th, 2002.....it was Bill 191

Fail To Move For Police Vehicle

The court will reduce the fine if you appear in court, but you always want to win the case completely to keep your insurance rates low. Seek professional advice.
