I used to frequent montreal and I know there is a huge sign on Autoroute 40 when entering montreal that basicly says "no right turns on red". As I understood it is illegal anywhere on the island of Montreal. Outside of that such as in Longueuil or brossard (south shore) you can do it but many intersections happen to have a no right on red sign posted.

Its a stupid law IMO. Anyone know why it was implemented?
