Co-worker anxious to show me speeding ticket received with wrong date. Copper dated ticket 5 days BEFORE offence. I calmed him down and said to send in your not-guilty plea then wait for court date. We'll take it from there.


Can't remember if wrong day is fatal. Best plan of attack? (don't say call a paralegal, lol. That's too easy)

Make sure the ticket is filed within 15 days of the offence, 10 days in this case. Then if say the accused can prove he/she was not driving on that road, on that date the ticket would be wrong you are free to go......you just have to play it right. Make no effort to correct the date before trial.....
