Stopping After Lines ?

by: bobajob on

a question,

wife has an annoying habit of stopping after the white lines/on the pedestrian walkway when she hit's a red traffic light

Can she get a ticket if she does not stop behind the white line?

if so is it the wheels or the car front (i.e. bumper)

I understand sometimes you might hit the white line or an inch or 2 afterwards

but to be right in the ped x is embarrass as people crossing have to walk around the car and some glare, maybe she doesnt notice

I also think it's not particularly safe

anyway

The Ontario Drivers handbook is available free online and has some good illustrations of where to stop. The front of the car is to be behind to stop line.

Stopping across the line is a $110.00 fine

Depending on how far after the line she stops, it could also lead to a charge of red light- fail to stop. A $325.00 fine
