Please Turn On Your Lights...

by: UnluckyDuck on

Good Morning Y'All

As the holidays are fast approaching, and it is getting darker outside faster, I would like to remind people that LIGHTS ARE MANDATORY 1 HOUR AFTER DAWN AND 1 HOUR BEFORE DUSK.

On a side note, I'm really tired of people driving without their lights on (especially at night, driving a black car). My question to you is, Can I make a sign out of those LED strips at Canadian Tire saying "Please Turn On Your Lights" and stick it in my rear window, controlled by a switch? Any legal issues surrounding it?

I believe that the law is actually a half hour before sunset and after sunrise.

Restrictions in lighting apply to specifically to flashing certain colours like red or blue. To be honest as noble as your intentions are, with your record I would try to be as inconspicuous as possible.

It just annoys the hell out of me when on dim lit parts on the 401 (between 410 and 427) and the 407 (east of Markham road), your casually cruising at 110-120, and then you have to slam your beaks because some idiot decides to drive in the middle lane, doing 80, with no lights on.
