Drivers Licence Lost

Unread post by bobajob »

Hey Guy's

I lost my wallet and though I'm trying to track it down on a EARLY sunday morning

I had to get into work, ontario offices don't open till Tommorow morning

so a question

'

1) I'm not sure if I have a photo-copy of the license; if I get stopped, would I be able to use that;

2) If I report my wallet lost/stolen and get a crime number from the website would that help

I'm guessing the answer is no, would the officer use any discretion?

Also is it an offense (if I get a ticket), so would it count as a conviction?

Just trying to think 2 steps ahead

I'm having to jump through hoops, my whole life was in my wallet cards etc so trying to get them sorted out

Checked with the bank and my account is all good.

feel pretty *EDIT* at the moment, the shop I was in last yesterday doesnt open till 8

I'm so hoping they have it, the last place I remember using it

cheers again

You need your licence to drive. An officer might show discretion but then again we've heard every excuse in the book. Just the luck of the draw which copper you might get.

If you got a ticket it would be an offence and would count against your insurance.

Simple answer is don't drive until you get a new one.

Hey Argyll,

Txs for the reply, and pretty much what I've seen posted.

I reported it to peel region and had printouts of the report; so hoping for some discretion,

also it was a Sunday and none of the ont's are open (I work sunday)

That said, I now found my Wallet !

I'll make photocopies of my license just in case

But for the record, I understand your kind advse

cheers buddy

A photocopy of your licence is no good, it has to be the original. A photocopy is ok for your ownership, not for your licence or your insurance.
