U-turn

by: Anubis on

Last night i got a ticket for making an illegal U-turn (disobey sign).

Will I get demerit points for this?

Will this ticket affect my insurance in anyway?

Some insurance companies count demerit points and others just count convictions. For example three convictions with no demerit points could raise your rates while two convictions of 3 demerit points each won't. It really depends on the insurance company and their policy.

What is absolutely important is that you do not identify yourself when asking policy questions. Otherwise they will make a note on your file and this information is shared with other insurance companies. Which means you won't be able to shop around for a better rate later.

Fight the ticket. At this point you have nothing to loose except your time.
